Lee Mason - VAR

I wish they'd all forget to draw the bloody lines. We might stop ruling offside by a toenail in that case.

Clowns.
Always said that there’s no need for lines. Give them 5 or 10 seconds to look with the naked eye and make a call. If it takes longer and the need for lines to be drawn then it obviously too tight and the benefit of the doubt should go to the attacking team.

I would put a canny whack on, if they were to get rid of VAR for a month, the howls of complaint, over the certainty of dodgy happenings would be massive

i can hear it now, the first offside goal being given

I bet if they balloted every season ticket holder in the premier league it would be a landslide majority in favour of scrapping it

Likewise if you balloted all fans across the leagues, sky subscribers, or however you want to define the electorate

Well they will be living in the past and it won’t be going anyway as the club owners are all for it

It’s time to make it work with competent people in charge of delivering. The clowns of retired refs were always going to make a mess of this. They did throughout their onfield careers so what would be any different

Peddled from VAR after forgetting to draw the lines for an offside iirc.

Interested to hear @Voice of fair play @AC Mack and @redandwhiterob on this.

Doesn’t sound like he’s been peddled, sounds like he’s quit after being stood down from this weekends games. Seems like quite a few refs are getting pissed off with their organisation for what they perceive as a lack of support.

It was a shocking mistake, but they’ll be out of referees to do it by the end of the season if they sack everyone that makes a mistake
Why does it have to be refs doing it? Two totally different skill sets. Its like expecting a bricklayer to be a good plumber just cos they're in the building lark.

Mutual consent is what 80% of sacked manager statements say.
