Eoin Morgan - Retired

One of our best white ball players.

Just a shame he had such an issue over letting another of our best white ball players back into the team.

Is it a shame? He captained us to a World Cup. If that’s what he thought was best, who are we to judge.

Transformed the team, absolutely phenomenal captain. Hopefully we get to hear him more in the commentary box in the future.

The World Cup final could have gone either way. A couple of pieces of luck helped us win.

However I'm not questioning him as a player. It's the legacy. World Cup winning captain aside, I wonder how many people remember him for the Hales saga than hitting a world record number of 6s in an ODI.

Why would they? They would have to be mental. All we know for a fact is that we had monumental, phenomenal moments and success with Morgan captain and Hales out if the team. We don’t know what impact having a player who Morgan didn’t trust and Stokes had issues with for a long time would have had in the overall group.

For me his legacy is totally changing the mindset and mentality of the one day teams and the two world cups since are a product of that. Because of that and the fact that we won the world cup I think he deserves the benefit of any doubt that he made the call to leave Hales out because he thought it was best for the team rather than just he didn't like him.

Could've fucked us when Roy got injured and we had to make do with Vince mind.
No coincidence we picked up form again once Roy was back for New Zealand
Fair point, although if all 3 were available at the same time I’m unsure how you’d get them all in the side.
I actually rate Vince these days as well tbf seems to improved a lot.
