Blood groups

I didn't know my blood group until in my 50's when I had a blood test. I'm AB, no big deal, but I just read the chances of parents both with type O of having a child that is AB is highly unlikely, but I have no idea if highly unlikely is millions to one or whatever. I'm sure there are a few on here that could add there pennyworth.

My Mother In Law died a while ago, but a simple blood transfusion would have helped - but we didn't know her blood type.
She was one of those "Live, Love, Laugh" people, and kept going on and on to "Be positive".

No matter many good thoughts we had, she just didn't recover

By the way
Says 0% chance, OP
Although I'm seeing other discussions about edge cases.

Honestly havent got a clue what mine is.

I gave blood a few years ago but nearly passed out so I mustnt have as much as other people, hence never went back

I’m A negative. My old man donates platelets and I never knew why until just now…

A negative red blood cells can be used to treat around 40% of the population.

However, A negative platelets are particularly important because they can be given to people from all blood groups. That’s why A negative platelets are called the ‘universal platelet type’.

Known mine since I was 16. And fainted the very first time I had blood drawn. Real man
My brother is the same. I thought he was joking, it was hilarious the first time I seen it.
It wasn’t the needle or anything, he looked at the vile on the trolley with the blood in then ‘aye up’ flat out.
