As for the 2014 gates, an expensive weekend on the horizon in London could have stopped a lot of people.

I remember at that Southampton 5th round game being shocked at how sparse it was......

Remember the famous 92 quarter final replay vs Chelsea had only 26 000 with around 4 000 from Chelsea. I know it was sold out but judging other big attendances at the time I don't think we'd have sold too many more. A little perspective on what will be a good crowd and hopefully great atmosphere. The crowd vs Chelsea was mental. Hope we can recreate it.

Different times the FA cup meant something then attendances were higher than league games..

Shame it isn’t in half term week as that would throw another 5k on the gate easily, probably more.

30k is a good attendance, it’s just a shame ‘visually’ it looks far less than that because of the nature of the Stadium.

Maybe. I'm usually very generous with our potential support but we only had 25k for west ham in the previous round and hadn't had a really big crowd for a decade before. 30k is a good crowd.
