Attendance Thread - Fulham

"Vulnerable to comments"?

Since we increased the capacity from 42k to 48K we will have had about 100 games where there were more than 42k.
Should we have turned away all those people from each of those games because we were "Vulnerable to comments" when the ground wasn't full?
No it just should never have been expanded in the first place.

As far as our capacity goes, we sold out 42k when successful and had to limit season tickets so there was a floating few thousand to randoms. The expansion to 48k seemed the right thing at that point and I don't remember anyone questioning it. It felt like sky's the limit (pun intended). The first two seasons of 48k saw many sell outs with the only empty seats being in the away end. No one could foresee the ridiculous collapse of 19 and 15 pt seasons that knocked the living daylights out of our momentum and fan base. Scepticism set in and there have been doubts ever since.

If we ever get back in the prem and manage to play the style of football we are doing now, which you could argue Brighton or even Brentford are, I'm sure we'd be 45k plus every week. A sniff of top 6 and we are selling out if fans believe the club isn't there to just be dogged and fight relegation every year.

Of course it should, 42k is to small for us hence over 100 games with higher attendances.🤷‍♂️

This, I think people forget the absolute shite we've had over the years.

You could clearly see that was a tongue in cheek comment. Like I said. Technically I am a mackem. I was born in Sunderland. Brought up in Boldon Colliery. But I don't say hewla hewp, compewter or redchester (for register) other than that. I bleed red and white. Chill.

Agree. Sustained success = increasing the capacity.

Tbf there's a lot who think people in County Durham should support us and not the mags so it stands to reason that they should think the same of you being from Northumberland and supporting SAFC. Not something I agree with but at least they're not being hypocrites I suppose.
It's not the same at all, Captain Mag.

It's Sunderland supporters who think people in County Durham should be Sunderland supporters.

But it's also Sunderland supporters, not Skunks, who he was on about saying that he should be a Skunk. Not even remotely the same.

Thick as pig shit you mind.
