Attendance Thread - Fulham

Calm yourself down it’s just something I’d be personally interested in seeing. I support Sunderland but I’m not from Sunderland. Worked in Sunderland a lot though and through conversations with colleagues who live there and support the team but don’t go always interested me.
You get it all the time though with us.
Every big city club gets support from outlying areas on match days some from much further away and from abroad.
You very rarely hear a Man U supporter with a Manc accent and Liverpool with a Scouse one for that matter.
For some reason though we seem to get it aimed at us more than others.

It’ll feel more prominent because it’s Sunderland and you support them. Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal all get shite for their support not being from the area. Man City get shite for not being able to fill the stadium even with tourists involved.

Just to touch on this again. The club had done a back tracking exercise on cash turnstiles. The average amount of tickets sold was around 600.

It’s a myth to say there’s thousands missing from the gate because we don’t accept cash. The data shows it not to be true.

What they don’t know is out of that 600 have those people now not bought a ticket at all? Or have they went down the route of online/ticket office.

That said it’s not something I agree with, any extra tickets should be welcome.

Thats right. That number of 600 was for league games though, were the majority already have tickets via their season tickets.

For a cup game like this, where everyone has to buy a ticket specifically for the match, i think the impact of cash turnstiles would be greater.

Maybe not 5k, but certainly that option should exist, and we would benefit from it.

But that’s the same. Probably 99% of people are just going to activate their season cards. I don’t see how a cup game makes any difference.

How come it’s only Sunderland that gets this shite?
So a majority of the Scum support on match days comes from Newcastle does it?
It doesn’t come from Gateshead, Wallsend , North Shields, Tynemouth, South Shields, Hebburn, Jarrow, Blyth,Ashington,Consett ,Durham, Northumberland and County Durham?
I don't understand why you are calling it "sh!te"? I think it is a good thing if people not from the city or do not currently live there feel strongly enough about SAFC that they still attend.

That’s absolute bull. I’m a “towny” and all the people I speak to who I know in pubs home and away - lots and lots of ppl on tots are all from Sunderland
I'm not saying that people from sunderland don't go to the games. I'm just talking from personal experience. Had arguments with people from sunderland saying I'm not a proper fan cos I haven't got an SR postcode which I found hilarious 😂 even though I've had a season ticket since 1999/2000 barring one year off

I’m talking about the Townies getting stick for supposedly poor attendance, I’m ower the moon that we get support from the yakkers and Geordies I wasn’t having a go at that.

Most of our exiles have a connection with the area or an SAFC supporting parent/grandparent. I include myself in that having moved away for my dad’s work as a kid.

Anyone supporting us as a glory hunter needs a refund

That is ridiculous, mind it's only as ridiculous as you "very rarely hearing mackem accents at Sunderland games." Haway man.

Just bought my ticket - place looks empty on the stadium map mind. Hope I'm wrong come the night but we will look really dis-interested in the competition on the TV, because of the TV...

That’s quite decent that tbh. I’m looking forward to it we play really good football for the first time in years. Going to the match doesn’t feel like a chore anymore!

I definitely think more from surrounding areas. Very rarely hear a proper mackem accent at the SoL and away games.

Must have been rare arguments though
