Agree with this, there's been rumours about him wanting to have a bigger stadium than Newcastle but not sure how true that is. No doubt 48K is fine if we're flying in the Premier League but I think Murray needed to judge our gates when things aren't going well before extending.
It's left us vulnerable to comments about empty seats even though averaging over 40K during our largely dispiriting 10 seasons in the PL was a miracle.
Just people debating what's going on at the Club. Sounds like it's pointless you joining in.I usually do, always found them quite pathetic and a pointless back patting/criticising exercise
Looks like every post he's made on this site is about attendances. Very odd.He might be but nothing wrong with that post imo, these threads are pointless anyway, who actually cares about attendances? They seem more of a stick to beat us with if anything and a bit obsessive.
That's fine, won't clap or cheer when the attendances get announced in Wednesday or Saturday eitherJust people debating what's going on at the Club. Sounds like it's pointless you joining in.
Looks like we're (safc and nufc) both obsessed with attendancesLooks like every post he's made on this site is about attendances. Very odd.
We should give 10k season tickets away for free to make it look fullAgree with this, there's been rumours about him wanting to have a bigger stadium than Newcastle but not sure how true that is. Tbf I've thought the same re the extension and whether overall we should have done it. Split on it tbh. Although you make a reasonable point on the sunlight issue and south stand extension. Perhaps influenced Murray into doing North right away before option was taken away. What sort of idiot (other than you, of course) would want to budget for a ground that fills up in times that are bad, so therefore by default, is too small when things are going well?
Why would anyone want to extend the South Stand upwards (when there is other options), and block even more sunlight from getting to the pitch?
Theres another one at the top of the page, 701 SAFC oldie.Another Mag on a fishing trip

Has Skunk written all over it
Id agree there, 30k for a game on TV is very very good. Even with the cheap tickets, some will not be able to afford the expense. Late finish so some families wont want their out that late etc. We’ll definitely get over 30k, which is decent for a televised cup replay.
With the possibility of extra time and penalties, it will not be possible to book trains to get home on the night for anybody from Scotland or south of Leeds, so that will put a small number off. Having said that my son has agreed to work from home on Wednesday, or rather work from here, then get the 6.20 train into work in Edinburgh on Thursday morning, so there are ways to do it.Id agree there, 30k for a game on TV is very very good. Although the cheap school tickets offer when available is a child and an adult ticket for £20. That's what's available now for this game to the people of South Durham and everywhere else. They can take their nanna along for an additional fiver as well. Great value. As a tangent one thing I don't understand is why the club don't roll out cheap ticket offers to schools south of Durham. In Darlo all my young nephews have had this sort of thing for Man U and Man City over the years. Bussed in and then bussed out for midweek games. European games IMSC, so even those teams have spare seats for midweek games. This is something the club should look into going forward IMO as in the whole scheme of things the Mags will have an oversubscribed ground, so they can't really do this. It's a good way to attract young fans.
How many times a season do they do that?Although the cheap school tickets offer when available is a child and an adult ticket for £20. Just to touch on this again. The club had done a back tracking exercise on cash turnstiles. The average amount of tickets sold was around 600.Cash turnstiles is a tried and tested method going back decades. But hang on, we cant handle cash. It's pathetic really. I think for older generations this is vital and would probably get an extra 5k on the gate for Wednesday.
Do a pollI’d love to see a map that shows what percentage of areas buy tickets for Sunderland games or something along those lines. It would be interesting and I do wonder if residents from surrounding areas buy more tickets than Sunderland residents.
What's the total?About 20 left in BCB
