Is it worth buying a diesel car?

Same position for me....my Tuscon is getting on and I need a decent car for graft for the next 3 years...
Car allowance covers the cost.....just not sure whether to go for diesel petrol hybrid etc...

I’ve had mine since 2018 and it’s done 26k mainly due to lockdown - I could sell it for £2k less than I paid for it which is tempting but just going to aim to run it for another ten years

I find the used market is mostly diesels anyway, so choice is instantly limited, especially in the larger car options. Same thing about automatics, everyone bangs on about how class they are, but restrict your search to them alone and you reduce the pool of options by 75%.

My old car is about to die, looking to replace it. Plenty of diesel models around all claiming high mpg. Looking at vehicles around 10 years old. Trustworthy figures, or was it just VW that were the liars?
Need to make sure you don't live near anywhere that has or is about to bring a LEZ in. Doubt a 10 year old diesel will comply.

Just traded in my electric Audi Q4 for a new F Pace Diesel - modern versions now give a warning that the filter needs cleaning and a 20 minute motorway run cleans everything up.
I’m over the moon to now be able to drive without any range anxiety or having to wait an age for a charge - the infrastructure just isn’t there yet. It’s Diesel for the foreseeable so far as I’m concerned
