Anthony Gordon

FFS man.

Signing Trippier and paying him c100k a week was the turning point. Then adding Dan Burn.

Wilson was already a class act but the team didn't play to his strengths.

Fair play to EH but it is bollox that he has some kind of midas touch.

p.s. whilst SB is a dinosaur. With a takeover hanging over his head, no investment in infrastructure, job uncertainty for all involved made them drop off in level and be bottom of the league. Cleverest thing EH did was NOT To make a big signing when he arrived.

That's like saying Margot Robbie would eat less food than the fat lump I could probably get. Yes, it's true, but that option wasn't on the table.
MR nivver leaves a crumb on the plate marra. Used to cost me a fortune in Pizza Express. Dough balls, Pizza and Chocolate Brownies and three cocktails every Tuesday neet. I almost had to take up supporting a club that played every midweek slot just to get out of it. Had to give her a bosman in the end.

She could eat a pizza slice sideways. Gob on her.

Do you mean spending bigger money on star names ?
It’s undeniable that we’ve spent fantastically well. Pope, Burn, Trippier, Botman and Bruno have been top drawer acquisitions hence the season we’re having.
Nothing lasts forever…..

Now now. Ive nivver badmouthed an ex yet. Ask the mods to delete that as she still looks in on here occasionally to keep an eye on me. We don’t want her getting the impression that NE gadgys aren’t old school gents do we.

As good as Trippier is, he is hardly Messi and is a right back, he made a huge difference but that one signing was hardly enough to drag a team single handed off the bottom of the league to comfortably staying up. Dan Burn again see above good player but a left back and again not Messi. It is down to the manager and how the team has been coached combined with some excellent transfer business.

More to do with the whole state of football. Not just them lot up the road. It was always gonna be fucked since 92 and the premier league. Many said it would go this way and it has. Why we’ve now got this model we are trying to work to, because unless you have the benefactor of tge scale on the Saudis you’ve got to try and cone up with a different method. Maybe the youth method, getting the talented kids in very early and letting them grow together can work. Imagine if we go up this year, these lads together for 18 months playing like they have been with some steady improvement could be a team that could compete. One things for sure, the pressure when we play them lot won’t be on us. :)

See the P.S.

How many free kicks did KT score? Take those points away and would you have got off the bottom.

The first thing they looked for is our reaction

Chelsea's new signing is a different class.
Aye clare balding tribute act look-a-likees don't come on the market every day
Boyhood toon fan .... loves greggs and sweaty scatters whole adore terrorist regimes

Sorry if SEB, but.....

He is yet another player from the lower reaches of the Prem/top of the Championship to make a big money move to a team higher up the league early in their career

If he doesn't establish himself in the first team quickly (which is a very strong probability) he will end up on loan somewhere maybe for a couple seasons while his game stagnates and he fails to develop

And then he will end up like Jack Clarke and Patrick Roberts, except without us to rescue him.

He’s got more cards than he has goals and assists in the premier league. Good luck with that.
When you've been playing in a struggling team a lot goes against you and sometimes your potential doesn't get fully realised.
He's in a much better organised setup now and could flourish.
His cards and goals for Everton have absolutely no bearing on his move to Newcastle.
He'll be judged on what he does in a Newcastle United setup.
Only time will tell on this but if the club and Eddie and crew are happy, so am I.

You’ll be telling me next you didn’t think he was an absolute prick before you signed him n’all.
Not at all. He torments teams and he did it for Everton against many teams, including Newcastle. The way he's gone on will render him a prick in many people's eyes but he's now a Newcastle United player and his status changes and he gets fully backed by me and likely most, if not all Newcastle United fans.
That's just the way it is and would be for your team.

I'm sure Lee Clark and players like him were pricks before he signed for you and then he was backed as it should be. He only became a prick again when he showed his T-shirt.

The nature of the beast that is a football fan.

He’s possibly better than what they’ve got (Almiron) and that seems to be their transfer policy which isn’t a bad policy and has worked so far albeit with about 20 seasons worth of luck, but when the takeover happened the mags weren’t imagining the likes of Gordon, Wood and Dan Burn! They were linked with Osimhen, Bellingham and players of that calibre but they are a million miles away from attracting those even harder when Man U, Liverpool & possibly Spurs get their takeovers sorted!
