Anthony Gordon

They've got a few good players, but he isn't one of them. Don't even think Howe rates him and a few of my mates who support them up the road wouldn't be arsed if he was sold.

Unbelievable how many on here are hoodwinked by a few stopovers and no end product. Entertaining tho 🤣

I've not said that at all.
It's quite amusing watching you do this.

You don’t have to remember, just google it.

I was being sarcastic. I already know he doesn't score or assist enough to be wanted off like some on here (including you) are doing. It's got nowt to do with who he plays for neither, he's just a showboat with very little end product.

Statistically he does have an end product.

Mental that they got that Guimeres fella for 35m and they're paying Gordon for 40m

They’ve done some good business lately but this one is absolutely stinking. Really can’t see how he improves their team, Everton won’t be any worse without him

NUFC are in a difficult transition tbh. For all the Ashley era was derided at least it made sense thematically in a way. Players went to the mags with an expectation that good performance would get them a move to a top club. Now their desire to be alongside the big boys has created a blockage. The problem is the profile they’re going for is all wrong. They’re paying elite money for players who in the main aren’t elite quality. Gordon is a fairly egregious example. And their desire to push into the elite is having them overpay and reduce their status as a stepping stone. Their inability to generate value and their lack of appreciation of what they are will pin them in within a couple of years. Signings like Gordon don’t help them. Even talking about ASM. The hype was there a year or so ago. What actually happens is that he falls off and ultimately will get moved to a faded euro team for a middling price. That’s gonna be the dynamic with all of their signings barring probably Guimares.

Burn, Botman Trippier and Pope have been good signings for them. Loads of clean sheets and a decent chance of the CL

The mags have some very good players. I’m just not convinced he’s one of them.
There’s a lot of players I’d not want to sell before him. He’s exciting and undoubtedly has ability but I wouldn’t lose sleep if he was moved on. He’s been out of the side now for a while and it’s not like we’ve missed him.

Decent signings yeah, but they paid elite money (and wages) for them. And they simply aren’t elite players. None of the top clubs covet them. And at the prices that nufc paid, none of the top clubs will take them on unless the mags take a bath on them. They’ve got a fair chance of cl this season but that is purely a function of a massive fall off from Liverpool and chelsea. Even then there’s still a fairly big chance that they miss out. And the money they’ve spent to put together a Europa quality squad at best will hurt them in the future.

The mags need to stop pandering and generate proper value. I’m comfortable with how they’re running their club now tbh. I’d be far more worried about their long term prospects of actually making a mark if they were buying players who were actually appreciating in value (ie more like guimares). Thankfully their addiction to cosplaying as an elite club should continue to fuck them up for a fair while yet.
