A former fan favorite would be the cherry on the cake:

Experienced defensive midfielder
In keeping with the current french signings approach
Only a few months left on his contract so will be available on the cheap
(not going mention the obvious stumbling block  )

BHH

The club doesn’t want to go up are you suggesting that this is the goal?

We’re so far off a PL club, I’d say £200m to have a go at staying up maybe more.

Do you think we have that cash?

You do realize that going up even just to get relegated back to the championship the next year would be financially fantastic for the club

Obviously not. Going up should always be the aim.

Look at Burnley and Sheff Utd. Neither spent massive money in the PL compared to other clubs yet are running away with the automatic spots.

The difference in money from the premier league to the championship is colossal. Youd have to be a fool to choose championship money over Premiership. An absolute fool infact

Exactly......take the £120 million....and then the £70 million parachute payments...........spend it wisely and buy people who would stay with us.....come back stronger

Get promoted, take the 100m + cash and give the lads experience of the top flight.
Ffs don't turn down the chance of financial stability

Do you not think they’d rather get promoted, take all of the TV money that comes with that, come back down and have a proper tilt at it?

This “the club doesn’t want to go up” narrative is baffling.

Do you know how much the club would gain financially from being promoted?
