Bolton 6-0 SAFC

The Portsmouth match a year yesterday was one of the first games I took the bairn to, and it was absolutely cack.

Even though we won it was total dross. The pitch looked minging, we looked minging.

That was before the Bolton 6-0 which was even more minging.

What a turnaround in looking like world beaters now. It's almost like it was just a bad dream.

This was the match that convinced me that my 10 year old was crackers. At 4-0 down I said right that's it, he said no I want to stay until the end. Got back to the car after the match and I was raging "I'll never go to Bolton again", he was like "why not? I will". He's clearly one of us.

It's my closest away match aside from Wigan and even I wonder about whether to go again should we play them!
I think the best result I've seen us get at Bolton Away is a 2-2 draw
This one I think.

If this club genuinely has any kind of success over the next few decades I have no doubt people will talk about this game as the point in which the club hit rock bottom and the only way was up. In hindsight when we consider the quality Batth, Clarke, Roberts et Al., have, you also wonder just how great an achievement getting us promoted was from Alex Neil? Really last season we should have won league one at a canter and would have done with a Neil, Mowbray or even a Warne or Moore at the helm from the start. Lee Johnson should have left the club after failing to get us promoted against Lincoln.

One of the darkest days in the history of the club, yet only 1 year ago this week.

Within 12 months we've gone from that, to 1 point off the playoffs and 3 points off 3rd place in the Championship after 28 games, reducing the average age of the squad with what seems like every signing, and playing some of the best football in the division.

It's no mean feat. The days of clubs going straight from L1 to challenging for promotion are long gone and the highest any promoted L1 side has finished in the last 4 season was last year's Blackpool in 16th.

If anyone still doubts the credentials of Speakman and co, that should be all the evidence you need to realise he is doing a fantastic job.

Think Cov equalled that and Luton finished 14th

Why would you bring this up, I was having a bad day, and now I have to think about how the Snake Saved us from L1... the timing of the post gives me a headache and I normally really like your posts.

Left at 4-0
5-0 when I got to the car
6-0 when I hit the motorway.

I said that was me done for aways, stopped at a services got some cans and started planning Wigan away.

What a year it’s been since!
similar here. 4-0 when we walked out, 5-0 on one side of the dual carriageway and 6-0 when we were at the car.

Was just about to say this, thank f***ing god the club saw sense and peddled him. The amount of backers he had on here, even after that result was mental.

Would we? We wouldn’t have had to endure a 6-0 defeat away at Bolton for starters.

Lee Johnson was a visionary, i read it on here.
Did you really though? I’ve never seen anyone use that word to describe him.

I saw plenty of people saying “give him a chance” but I didn’t see anyone call him a visionary.

I feel like there should be a new rule; anyone who says “I read it on here” and doesn’t back it up with proof that someone posted it should be given a 3 month ban.
