Somewhere nice to eat in Newcastle for Saturday night

pretty most all restaurants have been named. Only thing I can add to the thread is that I received some terrible service in babuchos. Bait is usually raved about but it was mediocre when I went.

Munchies
But seriously, The Bake is decent.

kublai khan down the quayside was very good

mind you, that was a good 25ish years ago...

Only one shout i think for Route (next to the crown posada) so I’ll second that. Has a bib gourmand as well.

Heard good things about Hugo and the trip to ouseburn for the cookhouse if definitely recommended.

21’s overpriced and slightly overrated for me.

Christ. Never heard that place mentioned for years. Had our Christmas night out in there when I was an apprentice 25 years ago. 😂😬

Only others from those mentioned already are:

Solstice (House of Tides owners new restaurant a I’ve not been but is fine dining apparently)
Dobson & Parnell

Cook House - Ousburn
Kaltur - Dean Street
Dabbawal - High Bridge Street
Pannis - High Bridge Street
Patricia - Jesmond
Trakol- Gateshead Quay

We went to trakol before Christmas for the first time, all 6 of us thought it was poor to inedible 😂

Quality of food didn’t justify the price and the service was shocking , won’t be going back
