Cricket books (or any related stuff) for Christmas

I got my Dad Wasim’s book - he likes Gideon Haigh’s writing anyway and Wasim is a Lancashire legend so it’s a winning combination.

Bought me mate Philip Brown's "The colours of cricket" which is a collection of his photos from round the world following cricket. It's beautiful. Also got Michael Parkinson's book about sport. Was hoping to get Pat Murphy's Sports Report but Santa mustn't have got the message unfortunately.

Got felix whites book. It’s always summer somewhere.

Non cricket related but got Bob Mortimer’s books as well.

Not a book I got for Christmas this year but got it a few years ago and recommend it : "The Final Innings - the cricketers of summer 1939" by Christopher Sandford. Great sporting history overlapping with social/military history of the second world war.

Didnt read as many cricket books in 2022 as normal but would say my favourites were :

Harry Pearson - First Of The The Summer Wine.
Colin Shindler - Barbed Wire And Cucumber Sandwiches.
Stephen Chalke - Geoff Cope...In Sunshine And Shadows.
Ashley Gray - The Unforgiven.
Mark Wagh - Pavilion To Crease And Back.

Looking to add to my cricketing library so have bumped this thread, has anyone read any of the following:

David Lloyd: Around the World in 80 pints
Duncan Hamilton: One Long and Beautiful Summer
Michael Henderson: That Will be England Gone

Had these recommendations from friends. Reviews and further recommendations welcome!!

Just ordered ‘Harry Pearson: The Farther Corner’ on a loosely related note too, couldn’t believe it had escaped my attention until now!

I've read Around the World in 80 Pints - it's good for recommendations of where to eat and drink near the Test grounds and gave me a couple of gems when I went to Trent Bridge last year.

I got Harold Larwood by Duncan Hamilton Christmas just gone, it's brilliant and well worth a read. Currently on with Ashley Giles' autobiography which isn't bad either.

I also got Beyond a Boundary by CLR James. I got about 2 thirds of the way through and gave up, found it a real struggle tbh.

Anything by Stephen Chalke and Duncan Hamilton is a good read. Many of Hamilton's publications are about football but nevertheless good reads -"The footballer who could fly" i.e. Wyn Davies particularly recommended.
Periodicals of The Cricket Society and County Cricket Matters are also to be recommended.
