Squad for NZ

If Crawley fails again (on the flattest wickets in the world) who do we have as a back-up opener for the English summer? You'd potentially have to move Brook up and bring Bairstow back? He's essentially guaranteed a start in the Ashes isn't he. Regardless of his form between now and then.

I like the way we’ve gone horses for courses (Jennings only a reserve batsman in the sun-continent). Really good squad for me.
I like having a quick in there in stone, and dont mind Wood being rested.

Still wouldnt rule our archer potentially joining the tour.

Sensible on Ahmed, think the lad is going to play a few more tests next year.

Jacks and Lawrence both going is probably a surprise for me.
I maybe missing something but Wood missed summer cricket with injury but is now taking a break from cricket
Think there managing his workload, plus this year, hes either been rehabbing, in surgery or bowling like lightning in high pressure games.
He's earned the month off to relax imo

Still lost on this one Scotch.....by the time of the first test against NZ he wont have played a red ball game for two months

Its going to be mental wellbeing as well as physical workload, clear that Stokes is going to bank on him for the Ashes now
