The murals on the walk up from St Peters are looking particularly run down.

Don't quite 'get' the sweets and pop stalls but if anyone's been to Stamford Bridge or the Olympic Stadium in recent years, the fare around the SoL at least feels a bit more authentic for a football match.

A lot of it is basic upkeep and maintenance, hardly earth shattering upgrades or improvements. The basics of painting, tidying up and ensuring things aren’t left ripped (the Ji banner) or broken (the hand dryers) isn’t something we should be putting off and using “the sustainable model” or “we should use the money to buy players to get to the Premier League” as an excuse.

Things like this honestly makes me think kld hasn't much interest in us. Trying to spend as little as possible

none of those things cost much money
but of course he wants to spend as little as possible to achieve his objectives..who wants to spend more than they have to?
the problem here i suspect is that he is a play boy owner not a business owner and "boring" things such as those above mentioned will never catch his eye if he can have the dopamine hit of signing a footballer

Not that it bothers me but the TVs are shit. Made even worse that they have that ‘sky sports news’ like setup so the picture is tiny.

In Ellis Short's final year the maintenance budget was slashed and then when the chancers arrived it was decimated with redundancies and existing staff offered a pittance to stay. It doesn't seem like anything has changed in that regard under KLD, hence the delapidated state of the ground.

It needs some serious investment to bring it back up to scratch and if there is ever any serious ambition within the club, probably needs tens of millions to sort out the concourses, improve the exterior and generally enhance the match day experience. The trouble is, the return on investment is unlikely to be there so it is difficult to ever see it happening.

Agree but upgrading them would cost. I'd like the original bar signs brought back, they must be in a shed in AOL somewhere. Ice bar and alike piss me off. Get the history and uniqueness back. Again not fortunes but makes concourses more inviting and less corporate.

for tens of millions they could just build another stadium.
the match day experiece has been enhanced a bit, i think most of the issues around ti are things that cost little and those which could cost a lot are not nescessarily within the control of the club. EXpanding the concourse would require planning consent, for example?
Its not very ambitious to spend money on things that wont generate a return on investment.

interesting. nearly the whole academy has been restructured since his arrival, including multiple staff recruit for specific departments

Corporate brings no money from average supporter. You'd know if you'd ever been. I am of course speaking about the concourses not Corporate areas. Es removed a lot of the uniqueness in those areas and it diminished supporter experience for those of us that use them.

The concourses are too small and the bait is absolutely crap. The bogs are awful too.

The outside of the stadium around the main entrance looks like a glorified Morrisons, as does the ticket office. The Beacon is superb mind.

Once seated I don't think it's too bad, but that leaky drain in the North stand roof does my nut in even though it's not me getting wet.

Apart from that, happy days.

Nothing at the Sol will be improved as the moneys going to be going on other things. It needs some desperate tlc and Unless we get promoted and get new investment itll stay like that foreseeable imo.

As others have mentioned, some of it is just minor cosmetic things.

Like painting or cleaning the roof. Any 25 year old white roof is going to be dirty. Get some one up there and sort it.

Sort out weeding and power washing. Employ a maintenance team or Stadium manager to highlight areas that need repair or a lick of paint.

In the stadium itself, the sound system is obvious, a load of floodlights are out. The concourse and the catering stands are dated and there isn’t enough room. Not sure what can be done in there without whole sale change.

I totally understand it’s a cost thing but customer experience should be as important as any other area.
