Sunderland AFC U18s

We will lose some still, thats the nature of football.
Some get starry eyed if a big boy comes in, some can't turn down the monetary offer. The good thing is at the minute is they aren't touting them around, and there seems lime a plan to bring them on to 1st team football with us, not just selling a good young talent for a 100k or whatever.
thats the point..safc dont get th decide how much they sell a player for if it goes to tribunal...where the fees are shiot..2hawking around" if the player is set on leaving...gets you more money.

There is a bit of a misconception that the Oxford crew sold every kid off they could. Yes they put some names out there to other clubs that they were for sale but some of the kids couldn't wait to get away to a bigger club.
Imaging Turing down one of the big boys and you never get that chance (and money) again.
Fans need to put themselves in the youngsters shoes sometimes, and not be selfish as a fan of SAFC.

No doubt there were cases kids wanted to be away to bigger clubs and cases the club wanted to cash in. Doesn't have to be all one or the other.

I know nowt about this but from reading this it seems we can develop players ( excellent ones it looks like ) out loads time effort into their development but if a ”big boy “team comes calling we end up via a tribunal selling for not a great return and have little say in the matter (without the possibility of sell in /performance clause compensation? -or is that wrong ?)
Thanks anyone who is in this field and knars
Oh and for what it’s worth well done to whoever is responsible for identifying and developing this talent and to the lads themselves
We must be becoming very attractive for prospective youngsters ?!

Had the same question. Someone posted if we can agree on a fee it doesn’t have to go to arbitration, I seem to remember figures for Okowronko being of £1m. He scored last night for Everton in the Papa Johns.

I would imagine ( again clueless in all honesty) that if we agree like that direct with no arbitration we can agree appearance sell on clauses ect directly
Wonder if that can be done with arbitration ( which in effect is a 3rd party sorting out differences )

Up to 7-figures but conditional on performance.

Quote from Chronicle article:

The Liverpool Echo have reported a seven-figure deal was agreed with Sunderland earlier in the summer but that Everton will only pay a fraction up front and the rest is dependent on clauses within the contract.

Pity it’s behind closed doors -would have liked to see these lads who are a credit to the club
Will it be streamed ?( I kna )
The performances of late make me want to watch
