Leachy

scotch

Striker
Right now, probably our best spinner.
But
Who have we got as alternatives

Ahmed - far too soon but he might prove me wrong.....
Bess - needs a few years to get his bowling tighter
Virdi - needs to play games, had a shocker of a year
M Parkinson - dropped by Lancs, didnt have a bad season though, didnt let anybody down on his test debut but maybe too slow
Parkinson 2 - poor season with the ball
Jacks - looks worse than Root (who is half decent as a part timer) needs to bowl more
Briggs, Dawson, crane - either not good enough or not bowled enough.

Harmer, what a shame he went back to playing for the saffers ;)

Don’t think we have tbh, only part of the England set up quite bare imo, plenty of seamer’s , batsman and keepers to pick.

But our spin bowling options clearly the worst.

I think other teams think that as well, and it’s a slight worry.

Because our fast bowling is so tight and scoring opportunities limited, Anderson brilliant at that, teams are grasping that the runs needed are to be got from our spinners.

In theory that could be good as teams will take more risks against the likes of Leach which in turn could produce more wickets for him.

But not sure he good enough and think teams will and are targeting him and scoring runs off him

Leach is our best option we have and is rightly selected.

Not sure what you mean about Ahmed proving you wrong? He’s 18 and already has a first class fifer, franchise contracts and looked a class above at the World Cup.

Can bowl left arm orthodox, chinaman and bat. Made us (Durham) look like mugs this season, twice. In and around the Lions squad.

He's very promising but only played three first class matches and got hoiked all owa by our first XI in the practice match.

That's an incredibly low bar you're setting there marra

5/54 in the first innings 2/7 in the second. If a spinner can get 7 wickets at CLS in April he must have something about him.

First class bowling average of 28 (from 34 matches), 26 with the bat.
