Harry Kane


People forget he missed the crucial penalty in the Denmark semi, because of the rebound.

Lad has won nothing.

I’d still have put my mortgage on him scoring, but him not leaving Spurs has cost us there. We don’t have enough key players who have won silverware in knockout tournaments. Henderson, TAA, Mount and that’s f***ing it. Winning stuff makes you calmer in those moments.

Kane has played a lot less games than a fair few of those as well. The idea its too much to expect him to take two in a game is unbelievable.

Professional footballers don’t change their mind. He went the same way and put too much on it.

It didn’t help that it was his team mate.
That’s why I think we should have changed kicker.

Anybody else taking is, by definition, not as good a taker both mentally and technically

There have been instances where the second taker misses. People miss penalties for different reasons

My feeling is that mentality plays as big a part as technicality. 7 minutes from time, we mentally put the pressure back on the keeper if we swap. There’s no proof that the second kicker is weaker mentally.
 
My problem for a while is why don't we play Kane as an out and out striker despite the work he does well playing deep..He is arguably the best centre forward around and we should play to his strengths...Giroud if he was English you could argue wouldn't be in England's squad but France know he's got a goal in him

I can hit the inside of the post on the way in, every time, I'm 40 and I'm fat, if England's best forward, on 200k a week can't tickle the inside of the post we're always going to be finished, no excuses for missing the target altogether mind! None.

He's taken two penalties in the same game for England before tonight on three separate occasions, scored all 6.
