We’ll sing what we want

I’ll see if I can find the video, which I’ve seen. I suspect however that it’s long gone. The lad who works next to me is a Man U nut who’s glued to their media all day, it was him who showed me it a few year ago. He asks about Diallo non-stop and when I said about the chant after Huddersfield away he said about Lukaku again.

Its been sang to Diallo for ages now, he’s been dancing to it. Do you honestly think he wouldn’t have once asked about the words to a song about himself?

Yes, I have zero doubt he had no idea what was being sang. Do you actually think he was dancing about in the middle of the pitch knowing they were singing out his nob?. Most chants you can't make out the words, even if you are from here. We have people on here saying they can't get the words to chants and they are in the same end that it is being sang, never mind the players on the pitch. Look back at this place for threads when the Jones song started. Some thought Carribean King was Got the biggest dick, which is why we had a few weeks of the same sort of embarrassing shite as this.

Because, perhaps, he was told to by authorities i.e. kick it out, safc. A bit like Lukaku was at Man Utd, who had previously laughed about the song. Why hasn’t Diallo expressed his displeasure before now? He obviously knew the words and it’s been sang for ages.

Just for the record, the song is good, but the lyrics are cringeworthy IMO. Are the lyrics racist? Probably 50/50 in the world we live in today.
How do you know he knew the words?

Any evidence of Lukaku laughing about it?

As people were saying at the time, he didnt know the words. Obviously.

50/50. Haha. Would they sing it about a white player? Have they seen this lads nob?
Just messaged the lad, video was deleted off twitter soon after so long gone. He reckons it was filmed by Pogba apparently. Lukaku didn’t make the complaint, it was Kick It Out and the football club itself, they asked Lukaku to tweet a request. He sent me this link with a half-hearted request…

Let’s put it like this, if you were a young footballer and your fans had a new chant for you but you were unsure of what they were singing would you not try and find out? It’s been sang for months now and the debate over its suitability has been done to death on many social media platforms, including here. In all that time do you not think he’d have been able to find the lyrics? Even indirectly!

For to see the lad come out with that makes me cringe. At first i thought it was a one of piss take but now its f***ing embarrassing. Show some class ffs, man utd sang it for lukaku let them have it.

Seems like he didn't know the words. Then found out. Realised no harm was meant (bit of ignorance) but pointed out why it needed to stop/be changed.

Same as this one with Diallo.

Same happened with Jones' song. Eventually the original became the only one.

Until he was found guilty.
Nope even after. Heard it a few times since. Was a group of about 25 singing it in one of the pubs off Trafalgar sq before the Charlton play off final once the crowd started thinning out. Few smaller groups of wankers in the concourse at a home game not long after either, can’t remember which one.

Was picked straight up from a version of the same song for Titus Bramble when he was rumoured to be getting done for rape when O’Neil was in charge. I’ll never forget seeing two parents a few rows infront of me encouraging their little lads about 8/9 at the back of the south stand to sing it against Bolton in the cup where Marvin Sordell scored.

The lad has asked that the song not be sung. Can his wishes not be respected here? And, just because he hasnt expressed his displeasure previously is no defense at all. Perhaps he was unaware, Perhaps he is a young lad who didnt know what to do.

I despair at times on here.

It first started off as running down the wing hear the Sunlun sing (like down Boro). So if you're insisting players are eager to find out the words he will have then. It's then since been pointed out the broken brains have changed it.

There's match goers on here, at games it's being sang, saying they've no idea of the words or the chant.

Sessegnon had one for months and only found out when he said he'd like a song.

He absolutely knew the words and his tweet barely says anything. Reading between the lines, he wasn’t bothered but was asked by the club and kick it out to release a statement condemning it. My guess is Diallo has done the same. Naive to think a footballer doesn’t know the words to his own song after a few months of it being sang.
