Yes, he did. A controlling shareholding is 50% plus one share/vote. Which he didn't have.

Let's not try to re-write history here. KLD, Donald and Sartori deliberately and calculated lied to the supporters. Since then, all that's changed is that they've re-arranged the share proportions amongst themselves. Same band, playing different instruments.

A controlling shareholder

  1. means any who exercises or controls on their own or together with any with whom they are acting in concert, 30% or more of the votes able to be cast on all or substantially all matters at general meetings of the .

The above is from the FCA website. What you are talking about is a majority shareholder, KLD said he was the controlling shareholder, so he didn't lie. Say sorry to KLD please.

If only it was that simple. He may not sign and not move. He can run contract down currently safe in knowledge we can't bench him as vital to us. He'll only go on his and his agents terms imo.
Thats true mate but he either signs a contract or we will trigger the clause to keep him here for the next 18 mths.He will have to continue on his existing contract and also have to play well to get any interest at the end.So as i see it at this minute we are in a strong position but must have it sorted early in Jan window

Which in turn is a rehash of another older article. Tells us nothing new whatsoever.

Why not ? a desperate lower PL club paying over the odds in a bid to stay up. I mean we did it most seasons for a decade.
We didn't do it for players with 18 months left on their deal and less than 2 months experience at the level below. Can see someone from above taking a punt buy not throwing the kitchen sink at a deal.

I said earlier in this thread we have to balance the offer to him with how much it'd cost to replace him and how much we're likely to have to Do so.

I've seen some convoluted attempts to defend the "management" recently, but you take a whole packet of biscuits.

They knew exactly what they were representing, and what they were in fact doing. There's a reason it was all done via offshore corporate vehicles where it was more difficult to identify the shareholdings. There's also a reason they went so long without plainly stating "KLD owns X% of the shares".

That he pretty much only increased his stake to the bare minimum that he needed to, to rectify the dishonesty, tells it's own story. None of them - including him - are here because they have an intention to meaningfully invest.

The summer will be a different kettle of fish. We may trigger clause but then we'll know its likely the last point we'll have to get a decent fee. The less a player has left on their deal theore power they have. Has been same since bosman. His agent also knows we've no one else which is likely why he's playing hardball.

Spot on marra. If he does go in this window it will be on the clubs terms and should be for decent fee. The transfer fee we get only really diminishes once he’s into that last year and can freely speak to other clubs.
