When you ask will they welcome them, sorry, I'm not sure if you're referring to Man u or lpool. I was reading through the Red Cafe forum earlier as they've got a specific thread started yesterday afternoon about state ownership. It's tricky for them as they've spent over a decade calling City out and stating their achievements are worthless due to the unlimited reserves. However at least 50% on there are massively opposed to the idea, saying that would be them done with the club etc. Another 25% concerned and the rest all far it. They've not had a poll yet though. The difference in the typical resonate in tangibly different to them up the road though.

I wonder about the geo-political landscape in the future as the oil states become less relevant due to the world weaning off their Oily teet.

Aye this. Do I want state owned clubs in England, no. But its happening like it or not so yes I'd far rather Liverpool and Man Utd were at the party so those insufferable halfwits up the road go back to their natural state of feeling aggrieved.
 
If they are gonna be in football I'd rather they done it like LIV Golf and fucked off to own league.

Let them buy Man U and Liverpool then City and the Mags can fuck off to their own league and let us have football back.

They will relocate the franchises to Saudi Arabia, games will be played over there in air con stadiums to a paying global TV audience.

They want Messi and Ronaldo playing in their own league in Saudi, matter of time before they buy up enough clubs to populate their league with big brand names like Liverpool, Man Utd, Inter, even the mags. Mags will kick and scream but the Saudis own them and can and will do whatever they please with their play things.

The mags won't kick and scream as they want in with the big clubs and the trophies it will bring.

I hope they all fuck off as soon as possible and let the rest of us get on with resetting football back to where it should be

My best guess on it is -

Super league will be formed with the big 6, the mags, Barca, Real and Juve (is it Juve that still want it?). PSG will want in, Lille have connections to Saudi as well, both Milan clubs will want in, possibly 2 from Portugal and maybe the 2 red bull teams.

That's 18 teams to start with, with games in Saudi, at their home grounds and also around the world.

If they get a TV company behind it, then they will all be off. Hopefully soon

Something like that highly possible aye. Goodbye and good riddance. Whilst we are at home to Leeds at 3PM on a Saturday in a packed SOL with tonnes of edge, the scum will be playing RB Saltzburg in Riyadh on a Wednesday morning to see who finishes bottom iof the sooper-dooper-arab-league.

Of course it will happen but it will be in addition to the Prem. The Prem will be forced to make so many concessions (LC will go, maybe less teams in Prem, U21's in FA Cup ...) to keep them involved and maintain TV deal. It (the ESL) is also doomed to failure.

If anything them going will make the fa stronger, a proper restructure can be had to benefit the whole football pyramid not just the super rich so called elite
