Sunderland will face Saudi Arabian opposition Al Shabab in Friendly (poll in Parsnip)

I don’t see the issue.

Seems we are tarring everyone with the same brush !

We’ve never battered an eyelid before the mags were taken over !
Errmmm…he’s the liaison between fans and the club. It’s literally his job/job title.
These decisions are above his head ! Bloke must have the patience of a saint if he has to deal with some of the clueless bellends who frequent here.

Had a reply from Chris at 9.15 tonight saying he has had 46 emails in total on this subject, said he was on annual leave for 2 weeks so wouldn't be able to provide a response until he is back and offered to discuss the matter further upon his return. His commitment to the role is unbelievable.

What do you mean, we never battered an eyelid before the takeover?

Do you think he's had more than a dozen emails supporting the decision to play the game, because that's literally how percentages work.
Has anyone looked into the ownership of the club we are playing ? Or do we oppose all Middle East countries and connections? As one poster said if that’s the case we shouldn’t be going to Dubai full stop!
There'll be many others voicing their concerns via other channels to be fair. Not everyone will know Chris' email contact.
Nailed on the majority haven’t given it a second thought.

Why haven't you answered the question?

If he's had 46 emails about the game today and all 46 are against the game that's 100%

Do you think he'll have had at least 12 emails supporting the game, which is what you would need to make the negatives less than 80%?

Who cares mate? It’s a friendly football match.
In 1935 the FA invited the Germans to play England at White Hart Lane .Many Jewish people and trade unions protested as for 2 years Jews had been send to concentration camps in Germany. On the day of the game the FA ordered the flag on the main stand was to be the Swastika. When asked if they were concerned about the negative response of many people.the FA replied.
Who cares mate ? It’s only a friendly football match.

It's in this thread, or in a very simple Wikipedia search, that they have strong connections to the regime, with their primary backer being a prince and former defence minister (and who the stadium is named after). It's murky at the very least.
