Sunderland will face Saudi Arabian opposition Al Shabab in Friendly (poll in Parsnip)

Well there was a post on here last night saying that he replied and said today was his last day in.

Then another post on here saying he emailed Chris this morning and got an out of office reply. But he didn't put that on his twitter till half 3.

Really disappointing if that's all correct. Be hoped it isn't because I had him down as way better than that.

When were these halcyon days when clubs listened and acted upon their supporters’ wishes?

Have any of the fans’ representative group actually told the club that there is a general feeling that we don’t want us to play this match?
If they sent an email, best of luck with that.

Its a perfectly good argument. Majority the people complaining give money to the saudis by using uber etc, its a bit like them just stop oil protesters last week on the m25 the leader was filmed driving around the whole of the uk last summer traveling. Unbelievable.
How are we giving money to the Saudis by using uber,Facebook etc? Explain. Is this about the money? I thought it was about having our club used for sportswashing. Are you a mag? You post like a lot of their posters

Saying that was expecting Mr Waters to be posting on the other thread about loving an early lous on a Friday

Over reaction? We have a thread called Sportwashing about our filthy neighbours, which has amassed over 8k posts. They are correctly called out and vilified in that thread for not holding their hands up to the obvious links to the murderous regime.

We organise a friendly with a team with obvious links to the very same murderous regime, and fans being concerned about that are “overreacting”. I’ve seen double standards on here in the past, but this takes the biscuit. Jesus man.
Yes I totally agree, the way ppl are just shrugging it off as just a friendly is very strange, we should be nowhere near this
Ive got to agree with this comment. This is a hot topic on here but I have not heard one mention of this game when talking with mates at work or in pub about Sunderland since it was announced.
I had the mags at work all over this straight away telling me we are playing a Saudi team, after months of giving them stick, I thought it was bull shit but unfortunately not

I emailed Chris on Wednesday and got an out of office message back saying that he was away until yesterday, not that he was going on leave yesterday:

Please note that I am out of the office until Thursday 17th November. I will respond to emails on my return.

Please note that I am receiving a high volume of emails at this time and will respond as soon as possible. This can take up to 5 working days.

Canny of chris waters to put his out of office email on first thing this morning when he's still at work and not do the same on twitter until tonight.

People do that, it’s no big deal. It just helps ensures that you can clear your backlog before you go.

Way better than what, managing his workload so he can actually walk out the door at 5pm.
You sound sanctimonious and very judgemental. If there is one bloke you should give benefit of doubt to its him.
