Are we destined just to be a yoyo club

I'm talking about championship and league one m8

Why would I love it like ? The past few years have been the lowlife of my 40 years of going pal . Never seen it or felt so bad that's why I'm clinging onto the hope we might be back one day

It's just the way things seems at the club . It's soeakmans way or none even dull Tony looks deflated now man
Because you're constantly negative, even when there's nothing to be negative about you post theoretical nonsense.

Some of the noises coming out the club this week and even Mowbray himself seems to suggest we just gonna be a club that has its limits . Think the premier league days are a thing of the past unless we get some investment .
Saddens me how we have become
The end of the season before Last we could easily have fielded a starting line up of.

Burge,
McLaulin,
Flanagan,
McFazdean,
Hume,

Power
Dobson
Scowen

Maguire
Grigg
O'Brien

Jordan Jones, Mitchell Curry and Remi Matthews were important members of our first team squad!

Now look at that and tell me we haven't made leaps forward under speakman and kyril Lewis dreyfus.

I’ve seen a few of your posts commenting on that we’ve had no investment, just out of curiosity how much money should we have spent in the summer window for you to class us as being “well invested”?
Investment isn't just about splashing money on signings.
It's tying down your best players on decent contracts and not selling off any kid with a glimpse of talent.

Several of your posts bear the hallmarks of those more usually posted by mags, either closet mags, blatant mags or mags pretending not to be mags. You say you've been going to our matches for 40 years or so. That suggests you're not a mag, although you could be. Assuming you're not a mag, it might be worth considering your posting style because it's coming across that you are a mag, which is unfortunate. Unless you are a mag after all, in which case give it a rest.

A very good argument.

Aye dreadful. And that was the state of the squad before Speakman and KLD took over.

While @allmagsaretossers is screaming "MAAAAAM, GIVE IS SOME SWEETIES NOW," he should look at the state of that and realise that they've already had some and he'll get more later if he's good.

Mate im 50 and we have been that all my
Life .

Unless we're bought by a state and money is no object, then the best we can hope for is 7-12th in the Premier League. On a good year you challenge top 6 and on a bad year you're in the bottom half. We'll sell our best players to the top 6 clubs and if we're smart we'll replace them adequately. Rinse and repeat. That's the end goal for our model imo.

We have always had our limits since the formation of the PL. The £100 million plus Ellis Short pumped into the club kept us afloat. Although our attendances were excellent, match day revenue was miniscule as our supporter base is not wealthy. Sponsorship deals were poor. We were forced to pay over the odds to attract players. We made financial losses every season. If anything the situation is worse now. Hardly any TV money with huge overheads ; Academy must be around £5m a year. We have a model of self sustainability ; bringing young players on who we might add value to. This success of this is wholly down to getting the right people in charge. But then just about every club in the country can say that. We are no longer a big club. In reality, we are a yo yo club. Only a handful of clubs in the country can claim not to be.
Relegation in 1958 plus the abolition of the maximum wage had a huge effect on Sunderland and several other big northern clubs.
Undeniably among the best supported clubs in England.
I still cling on to the belief that we're a big club, but nearly 80 years since the war and we've one cup win to show for it.

Even then we’d still get people like the op whinging and moaning.
