Away Fans at SOL Update

They can and will search incoming fans.
That's a very vague sentence. 'Searching fans' could be "please open your hands" to see if they're carrying anthing to sticking a flash light up their arse.

I highly doubt stewards are going to be putting their hands in every single pocket of away fans to make sure none of them contain coins.

That's bizarre . My comment on the other thread was you can't stop people bringing in Vapes and coins.... And they are gonna try and do exactly that! You would need metal detectors and airport style security checks to find coins man!

I wouldn't like that as an ordinary away fan. If you went by train you wouldn't be able to vape the entire day, or at best hide it outside the ground in the bushes  And normal smokers can bring their lighters in as normal ?

I'm shocked and a bit baffled at that decision mind

You could get a disposable one for the day and throw it away before the ground.

Airport style security checks is exactly what the club are proposing matw.

Airport style security checks is what has been mentioned.

Logistically it just seems mad.

You can't tap down someone to check if they have coins, so are there going to be tables where people have to empty all their pockets onto the table? What do you do if you say "yep, that pocket is empty" and its got a couple of coins in? Do the stewards have to put their hands in all of the pockets themselves?

Seems like a bit of a token gesture and they are hoping the away fans will just go along with it and not bring anything

I suspect they are buying time with the safety committee whilst they work out a way to move the away support.

The introduction of netting was also discussed with Supporters’ Groups, but it was agreed that netting by itself would not prevent the full range of missiles that have been thrown this season.
Why would supporters group not want a net put up? Pandering to pressure from the club? The club is a joke off the field.

This is what I think also. I’m 99% sure we’ll see the away fans in the lower bowl next season.

The second it was announced the PC was opening next season, you could tell the aways were being moved.

Only a few weeks back I was told the family bit wouldn’t be touched, but it looks like the aways will be in the SEC and South Stand next season.
