T20 Australia v England 28/10/2022

You just know what's going to happen. Game gets reduced to between 5 and 10 overs a side, we lose then toss and therefore the game. I'm all for getting a game on but hate these ridiculously reduced affairs

Oh right, I thought last year's was the postponed one and this year was scheduled.......but then did they decide to swap the hosts because of quarantine?

Last year's was meant to be in India but was moved to UAE.

For T20 I think it should be a full game or nowt tbh. Short enough as it is with 120 deliveries a side.

Torn on whether a 6 overs a side slog fest suits us. Probably not really but if this is off I just can’t see us going through. Australia will find a way (they always do) of pummelling Ireland or Afghanistan and you would think our 2 game’s would be much tighter.

100%, I think if it's off we're out the tournament. The Aussies will win their two and absolutely hammer at least one of them.

This is turning into a farce now you can see by aleem dars face that he doesn't think that it's safe to play bet you at 10.50 they will call it off and I'm watching on oz tv and it's started raining again that'll be the game off

It's pissing down again.. Its off. Well done to Australia for progressing through to the semi finals. Its worked out wonderfully for them. They should never have been given this opportunity to host this world Cup like unless it was summer time.

In the 70's/80's and serving in the armed forces I was a qualified cricket umpire. One year I was nominated to umpire the inter-services match between the Army and RAF at Aldershot. When my colleague (royal navy lieutenant) and I (mere petty officer) turned up the pitch was covered but the run ups and outfield was drenched. It was obvious that a ball wouldn't be bowled. Just as we were going to pull the plug a brigadier sidled up and begged us to hold on as a 5-star general was turning up and he'd want to see some cricket. Sure enough the general flew in in his Army scout. After tea and hours of doing inspections the brigadier reminded us that the general was expecting to see some cricket. In jest I suggested that the general's pilot flash up the helo and hover over the pitch and outfield. The silly fu**er then went over to the general and gave the suggestion I'd given him, only for the general to laugh out loud and tell him not to be so stupid and pull the plug on the match. A whole day was wasted.

Forecast for an absolute load of rain on Tuesday at Brisbane too, that will end up called off and we will be out.

Could be that the cricket authorities and Sky are worried about advertising revenues and trying to get it out the way before the footie world cup.
BCCI is always the answer
They control World Cricket
It's not. It was meant to be on 2020 but was postponed cos of Covid til 2022. The rest of the Oz cricket calender was already taken up so this was the only time it could be held.
Dates are virtually the same as I had booked for 2020
