It's the equivalent of late April (mid spring) in Oz, but aye, silly time to have it. Especially in Hobart and Melbourne which are quite far south and more susceptible to poor weather.

Just seen something on twitter that before this year there had only ever been 6 international games in Australia before the start of November. Sums it up. No idea why the tournament started this early.

Could be that the cricket authorities and Sky are worried about advertising revenues and trying to get it out the way before the footie world cup.

It's not. It was meant to be on 2020 but was postponed cos of Covid til 2022. The rest of the Oz cricket calender was already taken up so this was the only time it could be held.

Oh right, I thought last year's was the postponed one and this year was scheduled.......but then did they decide to swap the hosts because of quarantine?
