Burnley fans on Carley Road

Text from a mate after the match:

"Was driving over the wearmouth bridge with a running battle going on right next to us. Loads of fighting young’uns with blood running down their faces and carnage fighting on the road and in between the cars on the bridge. It was sickening. They were throwing the pedestrian barriers they put out all over. Horrible. I only hope this part of football is not on the up 😡😡😡."

Sickening, as my mate says. ☹

Sorry for joining and commenting I don’t normally do it on other fans sites. Look as people have said every fan base has a lot of morons it is clear from the comments on here Sunderland have there own as well. For me it has no place in football it never did it just destroys going to games with my kids as we are only there to enjoy it win lose or draw. I also heard that some Burnley fans threw stuff over the stand into the fans below which is utterly disgraceful I hope whoever did that is found and banned for life.

I walked from the stadium to the park and ride talking to Sunderland fans along the way without issue and never would have known there was any issues other than reading stuff on here, the Burnley forum and the delay after your second goal.

Anyway best of luck for the rest of the season apart from at the turf of course.

Burnley have always had chewy fans haven’t they ? I’ve never seen them cause troubleup at our place but have experienced it down there.
One game down there, I drove down on my own and as I drove into the town centre a big gan g of lads ran out in front of the car and two of them bounced off my bonnet. A load of shop windows went in and these were the home fans 😄
I’ve been on the Longside when it kicked off but we got the better of it. Been in those shitty pubs near the ground when it’s kicked off.
I do have a soft spot for Burnley though. It’s the size of British West Hartlepool and they get fantastic crowds considering. I once was driving past Turf Moor on a rainy day and saw a gate open and stopped and walked in. Met the groundsman and had a long chat with him on the centre spot. The stadium deserted and the huge terracing looked awesome.
He invited me for a cup’f tea and he was such a knowledgeable bloke.
So, yeah, Burnley are ok 👍

The great battle of the TIKTok shouters. Back in the day they would have been chased along Roker beach before cowering up a side street to sneak in the match.

They’re a town full of Tories based on 2019.
Did you actually make a note of all Tory-voting areas for your little black book for when the glorious revolution comes to pass?
Not knocking the Burnley lads , they were game. But the Sunderland youth appeared to know "exactly" what they were up to. And more importantly they seemed a tight little mob.
As I said the Milky Bar kid just seemed to come from within the Burnley youth smacking them as he moved back towards his own Sunderland lads.

At first I thought he was charging Sunderland but he just folded back into the mob.

All this was literally 6 feet in front of me, and they knew exactly who they were going for. And more importantly who they werent going for.

I couldnt tell who was who until one group was saying Haway then ya daft C£&nts !
Did this Milky Bar Kid have round NHS specs and a white cowboy hat?

What happened after the 2nd goal? I'm an exile 250 miles away so was watching but the bloody sound wasn't working, so i could just see the ref talking to Mowbray etc.
