Burnley fans on Carley Road

Right , this is what I saw.
Coming out and walking past the away coaches . Walking in I had noticed they were parked on the different side of the road, meaning the Burnley fans would ( should) not be in direct confrontstion with the Sunderland fans.
Anyway, coming out, me, my son and his girlfriend.
All appeared fairly civilised , Burnley happy and singing Sunderland shrugging and generally with a fair enough attitude.
Then, started by what I can only describe as The Milky Bar kid, it all exploded.

It kicked off fairly heavy. I wont go blow for blow but the 2 groups were aged 16 to 19.
Sunderland are getting on top, but (and I kid you not) one Burnley youth getting howked runs behind the coaches yelling Dad, Dad !. From behind the coach Burnley Dad appears , and he ends up getting a clump off the Milky Bar Kid.
Next thing Burnley elder element (40 -50 year old ) gather, and to give them their due , they charge the Sunderland Youth and push them back. No blows in this incident , just a charge. I think it was more about keeping the area around the coaches safe for their fans. They charged the Sunderland Youth mob, and werent aggresive to regular fans.

The general view going up the road was ( unless they had been provoked earlier ?) It was Sunderland youth "at fault".
Seen all Sunderland youth appear from side of Beacon round the back and straight into Burnley lads. Was like something off a film. They all bunched together, canny few of them aswel. Getting bigger and bigger every home game.

That would sound right. They obviously gathered, then went and mingled in with the younger Burnley element . Hence there seemed to be no defined charge as you
would see in the 80s, or the bouncing around of the 2000s , more pockets of blows going in all over the place.
As there was no colours on you couldnt tell who was who, but they obviously new as they gathered in a group again to face the older Burnley lads.

I mean, they looked like bairns, and its a snidey trick , but you have to say a clever method of getting what they wanted.
If I had walked past one in the street I would say they couldnt fill in a form, but they were game as badgers.
They sound a bit tasty our lot.

Getting bigger by the week. Not condoning it at all like. Game as fuck they are. Away fans have took the piss up here for far too long. As long as no innocent people get hurt...let em crack on.
I saw a lot of away fans taking the piss lately.

I would never go away and
Take the piss like a lot I’ve seen recently.

Them they are surprised if they get a whack !!!

Need to but a end to shit like this, arrest the lot
Coppers don't want the hassle. If we ever get back to the Premier League it will be carnage behind the Beacon after games. Especially with the Scousers and Mancs.

Been happening for few yrs now. Like you say, act like a dick...get a slap.

I know you won’t agree but the vast majority of our fans are great and most of our games pass off relatively incident free. Just occasionally the knobheads come out to play unfortunately.
Home and away fans getting on and talking in a pub, doesn't make headlines....

Coked up bellends causing trouble does....

The former is what the vast majority would love, before & after a match (win lose or draw...) a bit of time to crack on in a boozer. I've done it many times, but t's becoming increasingly difficult....

I literally ignored and walked past at least 3 situations today whereby I was goaded .

Youth …………………..

Me and my dad were cracking on to 2 Burnley fans after game outside Halfway House waiting for our taxi. No problem at all, talking footy n state of the country  shook hands with them when our taxi came and wished them well.

Just got back 10 mins ago, sorry to hear about the trouble after the match, there is just no need for it,this day and age.Small minded jumped up pricks with a few sherberts inside them! Strange that the police were not there, to lock a few of them up! Me and the lad had a great time drinking in Jamiesons, pre match with a few friends. No hassle at all, made to feel most welcome too! Unfortunately these teenagers sour it for the majority though. It,s been a long long time since I heard about any bother at the football, thought those days were long gone...Good luck for the rest of the season though!!!!

Agree with you completely, there’s nothing better than meeting fans of other clubs and sharing a few beers.

Burnley have always had chewy fans haven’t they ? I’ve never seen them cause troubleup at our place but have experienced it down there.
One game down there, I drove down on my own and as I drove into the town centre a big gan g of lads ran out in front of the car and two of them bounced off my bonnet. A load of shop windows went in and these were the home fans 😄
I’ve been on the Longside when it kicked off but we got the better of it. Been in those shitty pubs near the ground when it’s kicked off.
I do have a soft spot for Burnley though. It’s the size of British West Hartlepool and they get fantastic crowds considering. I once was driving past Turf Moor on a rainy day and saw a gate open and stopped and walked in. Met the groundsman and had a long chat with him on the centre spot. The stadium deserted and the huge terracing looked awesome.
He invited me for a cup’f tea and he was such a knowledgeable bloke.
So, yeah, Burnley are ok 👍
