To be honest Bushnells average is not that important as is the fact that he only actually scored a couple of hundred runs.
Its the fact that he looked good enough to bat at this level and after his maiden half century on debut he should have retained his place in the starting XI. Other more experienced batsmen should have had to change their position in the batting order or if their future was not at the club they shiuld not have been playing ahead of Bushnell.
The same goes for Gibson. Those last 4 championship matches in September should have been purely about looking at players for next season.
