RL One Day Cup Final - Kent v Lancashire

Good game that, Lancs dropped the cup a few times.

However watching two teams that aren't full strength playing the final on a damp late September day at a half full Trent Bridge is gutting. The games administrators want shot with shit.
I'm sunburnt so it definitely wasn't damp! It was a very good game of cricket and I actually enjoyed the fact both teams didn't play internationals or hundred players.

Trent Bridge is my favourite ground - it was a great atmosphere yesterday with both sets of fans.

I do agree though, the ECB need to do something because although yesterday was a good advert for county cricket, they're definitely under selling it at the moment - it could be even better than it is already with some proper governance.

Different people have different opinions and that's fine 😅

Personally I hate them, lived near their ground for years.. shit club, bogey team (in white ball) and Rob key went on like a bell end when we beat them

Can I ask which County you support?

Shit club you say??

With a comment like that, history and tradition of this great game obviously mean nothing to you.

Ivo Bligh mean anything to you?? Could give you a list of famous names as long as your arm, but they'd probably mean nothing to you that have played for this "shit club"

By living near the ground, I presume you mean the historical St. Lawrence Ground, in Canterbury? The ground that has hosted the longest running cricket festival week dating back to the 1850s, and even further back in one form or another.

The only comment you made I'll agree with was the one about Key.....I detested him, still do.

I've been a Kent CCC member for 45 years, went to my first County match in 1972, and saw my 1st Lords one-day final in 1973, and he is by far the worst, most negative and totally uninspiring captain I've witnessed watching my County.

I, along with other members raised a toast the day he retired.

Well I've said my bit now. Only replied as I couldn't get why you would call one of the counties with so much history and tradition a "shit club".

Go and do some reading on this great club.....you'll change your view point if you do so, believe me.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday....."shit club", that made me chuckle.

I'm pleased that you agree that Key was a shit captain,all-round,in more ways than one, shit in my opinion.
But being a Kent afficiando, care to give us an appraisal of our new signing Ollie Robinson.

Nowt to do with the history, just many experiences of being tret like shit at the ground. My last experience there was trying to get into a sri lankan a team playing Kent and they wanted £30 for a game that had about 10 overs left.

Actually that's not true, I was down there visiting for Potts debut.

If that's the case, I hope you took that stewards name and reported him. That was bang out of order!!!

In all my years of supporting them, they've always opened the gates after the tea interval and let you in free of charge.

Good lad x

f***ing hell mate, talk about prescious

If I threw a tantrum every time someone has a dig at Surrey, I'd have double the posts I have!
Do the SMB like Kent then?

lost track on who you like
I don't think anyone really gives them a minutes thought except me and @Twisted tbh
Bit like hating on the special needs kid at school

In one word........gutted.

Sam Billings as much as he's a brilliant wicket-keeper first, and a talented batsman second, Robinson is, or was, the future of Kent CCC, and should have been the 1st name on the teamsheet for the next decade.

Billings disappears for the IPL, gets occasional England call-ups, and then disappears again for that month of franchise shite.......plus I know he's on a very good £££££££ contract at Kent, and he's the wrong side of 30.

Robinson is a very, very good wicket-keeper, who very rarely drops a catch, unlike Jordan Cox who Kent see as the successor to Billings for the gloves.

He's also a very talented, and destructive batsmen, as his 206 not out, and yesterday's innings show. He can also open the innings, so a versatile player to have in the team.

I'm very, very, sad to see Robinson leave, as I am to see Darren Stevens retire at the end of the season. Brilliant way for Stevo to end his career.

I'll be following the progress of Robinson next season. I only hope Kent don't rue the decession to let him leave, as he really wanted to stay at Kent.
Good lad x

Chill out guys; it's only a cricket opinion forum.

Fair comment......

Had a brilliant Saturday yesterday:

Saw the Lads at Vicarage Road, enjoying the ale and sunshine pre-match.
Kent CCC won another trophy.
And bought a little German Shepherd puppy we'll be collecting next week.

Not going to ruin my Sunday on a subject very close to my heart, and who I love passionately.

You've got a brilliant player in Robinson coming to the North East.........I'll be watching with envy:neutral:

Enjoy your Sunday 👍

Its only on here I've ever seen pure hatred for any county mind, at a time when we're meant to be rallying round the county game. Perhaps because it's primary a football forum
