So despite the thoughts amongst us that this might not go ahead, here we are! I suspect that the weather is going to play a rather large part in proceedings, but good to see that we can put out what appears to be a competitive XI :)

Presuming JM Cooke is Joe Cooke from Glamorgan. I think only 4 of those players are either rookie players, or fully contracted players. Boosted by trialists and academy lads by looks of it.

It had the teams on at 10.30 but there’s obviously now a problem. The score hasn‘t changed since around lunch so I’m assuming it’s raining. It has been in Gateshead.
Now confirming play finished for the day.

Durham 336 (Sutton 83, Mustard 62, Crawshaw 70)
Leicester 176-7 off 34.
Play still in progress.

16 year old Haydon Mustard doesn’t yet appear to have a rank. I would imagine he’s a Private, but if he wants to aspire to his father’s rank of Colonel perhaps he’s joined as an Officer Cadet.

Either way, we need him and others to progress through the ranks as quickly as possible in order to replace the current bunch of crocks that comprise Durham‘s Dad’s Army.
