Been speaking to a Rangers fan. Said in the second half of the season they had too many wingers so got pushed out a bit. Also said he thought he'd stand out in the Championship.

Think the want to play with a back four haa always been there tbh. Neil said towards end of last season he wanted a back four. Started with a back v Coventry but changed quite quickly. Almost immediately after we went ahead.
Think he was struggling to change it as we aren't particulary solid and back 5 gave midfield a bit more support.
Mowbray is very much a back 4 manager. Approx 30 games out of 200 odd for Blackburn. Most last season but he sacked it off as they went on a terrible run with it. His win % was 10% higher last year with a back 4.

He used to be called Amad Traore. Got me thinking, who was that lower league player who completely changed his name a good few years ago now? Sure he played for Boro at one point.
Ended up changing it back to the original in the end.

We don't have any full backs though! I get we need to have some flexibility but we don't seem to have the players to play with cover in any system atm.

Aye, I've got a suspicion Neil probably wanted one but didn't get. We've got plenty who can do an interim job there for the odd game and obviously Cirkin can go to LB but depth at LB is limited and quality at RB is limited. Might be a case of needing some to go first so aren't budging.
