Realistic aspirations for the season are top half minimum, pushing towards playoffs. Even in defeats this season, there's been nothing in the opposition that was worthy of fear or that we could8have beaten. The red card and sheff United, the AN mess at Norwich.Well let the squad prove you wrong. They are capable of that.
And what aspirations are realistic?
We've just been through the worst 4 years in our history.
A talented, but thin newly promoted side.
If we are there or there abouts next April is that not a successful season or do you expect us to storm the division and go on to be Champions league in about 2 years time?
Patience amigo.
Consolidation is the achievable goal.
Anything else is bunce.
Speakman/Harvey's ability to spot talent is one of the very few things that this regime have managed to get right so far but even then the balance of the squad as things stand is all over the place.Clarke
Roberts
Stewart
Simms
Neil
Patterson
Cirkin
All cheap as chips but so what?
We can announce it whenever we like tbf. For all we know he could be taking training already. If it is as we're lead to believe Mowbray I can't see how it can't be done and dusted and announced immediately to get him involved in the preparation for the match tomorrow.
Pissing about does us no favours. The only viable reason I can see for taking their time over the appointment is if they're not 100% that Mowbray is the right man. Why else wait? There should be no hold ups as he's available right now surely? I thought the whole point of data driven analysis and DoF is that we have contingency plans and are available to make changes with minimum disruptions. Big mistake going into the game tomorrow without a new man in place. Wish we'd just get on with it.
Fair point. Always found it a strange rule, one I can’t quite get my head around in how it is meant to promote racial equality by rolling Sol Campbell out every time there’s a job going. Very weird.Didn’t seem to be at Stoke.
I was warming to Mowbray but if Caulkin is an advocate then I'm out!You must be logged on to see media items
Northern echo reported this morning that a deal with TM was concluded over the weekend, he should be announced today but won’t be in charge of the team on Wednesday. Mind blowing, can't waittalking to my Boro mate and he said he will stabilise the team and keep us mid table and then get sacked. dour but a safe pair of hands.
He was the third choice in our poll out if 18. I think most fans, while not being excited, are quietly happy with this. Initially I was underwhelmed but I have certainly come round. He plays good football and is certainly not the dinosaur some are suggesting of the Pulis, Parky type. He trusts youngsters and brings them on. He is liked by players and fosters good team spirit. However, after being duped by the scheming Alex Neil, we will have a man of integrity - we should all see the value in that. Most fans don't want Mowbray but if it is to be confirmed we should get behind him and the team and move on from the media circus from last week.
Mental that, when he has obviously been told he is the coach last Saturday, took training yesterday and not to be in the stands? If its him he'll be in the dugout tomorrow. Absolutely no reason for him not to beMental that, when he has obviously been told he is the coach last Saturday, took training yesterday and not to be in the stands? Strange.
You would have thought so.If its him he'll be in the dugout tomorrow. Absolutely no reason for him not to be
