Neil wanted to sign all jobs for the boys types no re sale value the usual we need experience shitNeil didn't. Don't care what anyone says. He certainly didn't want Bennette.
No, it would be boring if we all agreed wouldn't it??
Is manning any better than Mowbray though? It would certainly be a gamble. People are going in like he is a young jose.I liked Neil. I thought of him as a decent upper mid table championship manager with relatively recent experience of promotion. He was clearly taking a step down, that I don't believe he would've made for many, if any, other clubs. We are Sunderland AFC. We were the biggest club in league 1, but didn't act like it - grayson, parkinson, Johnson. With Neil we finally did say, we're Sunderland and we're going to get a championship level manager to get us out of league one.
I don't give a fuck how arrogant I seem, as far am I'm concerned we are the biggest club in the championship. We have an exciting young squad that could easily go places and I feel like we should act like it, and not hire some mod table plodder that would've gone to basically anyone at this level. Say to MK Don's, we want your coach, and f***ing take him - all properly of course, none of this stoke shite of taking him out to dinner while he's still employed. A young, forward thinking, stylistically matches our squad perfectly. Think outside the box for once, act like the draw that we are at this level. Be dynamic, be on the front foot, not someone that's going to bore us to tears talking about how happy we should be he's taken us to mid table.
Would prob have absolutely no knowledge of the opposition or payers at this level it’s ridiculous people would prefer and ex bishop stortford player and mk dons mama her with absolutely nothing on his cvIs manning any better than Mowbray though? It would certainly be a gamble. People are going in like he is a young jose.
Who would you appoint instead? I don't think Mowbray has a mid table ceiling? With this squad, even as it currently stands, we should be aiming to be in or around the playoffs. This appointment smacks of "we want to peak at mid table and you'll be happy with it". And the worst thing is, some people actually are.
So are you expecting a PL manager to step down? Is the at what you’d be happy with?Neil was a championship manager stepping down to the league one. As he proved, there was a reason he's never managed at that low a level.
Ive no idea how he'll develop, but that's the same as most of the players in our squad tbh. We've take a chance by going down the almost exclusively young signings route and it's lead to us have a very exciting team imo. I'd like us to take a similar sort of risk with the coach, a young up and coming, well regarded coach who matches our style of play perfectly. Is manning any better than Mowbray though? It would certainly be a gamble. People are going in like he is a young jose.
That’s what’s odd. On paper there is not much to choose between their records.I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with you mate, but what did you class Neill as before he took charge?
No, not at all, it's that a lot of people compare Mowbray with the appointment of Neil. While they may be similar in stature, mid table championship managers, the difference is we appointed one while in league 1, and so imo aren't comparable as appointments. So are you expecting a PL manager to step down? Is the at what you’d be happy with?
But you’d have been happy to keep Neil? No, not at all, it's that a lot of people compare Mowbray with the appointment of Neil. While they may be similar in stature, mid table championship managers, the difference is we appointed one while in league 1, and so imo aren't comparable as appointments.
Of course I wouldn't mind a PL level appointment howeverSo are you expecting a PL manager to step down? Is the at what you’d be happy with?
He'd earned the good will, and respect of fans and squad. There would have been no reason at all not to keep himBut you’d have been happy to keep Neil?
You should have a word with that guy promoting Jordan Henderson for player-manager thenOf course I wouldn't mind a PL level appointment however![]()

I'm not disagreeing, however is the fact our squad is such an unknown quantity not a reason they're going for a steady Eddie? Who can guide them and ensure if their levels drop, his experienced and knows the division.Ive no idea how he'll develop, but that's the same as most of the players in our squad tbh. I've not even got my eggs all in the manning basket, I'd be more than happy for us to look abroad for similar. It's just these bland, merry-go-round appointments like parkinsonism, Mowbray et all that people expect us to be happy about because.. I don't know why truth be told, they're a name?
Been willing to give KLD the benefit of the doubt even though I thought his handling of the share issue was amateurish and gave off a tonne of warning signs. It’s becoming increasingly clear however that he isn’t much better than Stewart f***ing Donald.
He’d been in charge for 18 months and it took sustained fan pressure for him to match Solihull Moors’ ticket office and club store opening times.
It’s becoming increasingly clear the club isn’t paying the going rate to its non-playing staff.
No Academy manager… STILL.
Ground and training facilities are dropping to bits.
I had absolutely no faith that we’d approach another club for their manager because that would require having to fork out money in the form of compensation. The sad thing is if you look at my posting history I said on Friday afternoon “can’t wait for us to appoint Smog monster Mowbray” and the sad thing is I meant that as a joke as even I didn’t think we’d sink that f***ing low.
Get used to the Championship folks as this is the sort of appointment that screams mid-table second tier club for the long term… if we manage to stay up this season with our wafer thin mostly League 1 team.
I've seen someone say if Mowbray is appointed they are cancelling their season ticket direct debit. Can't remember if here or TwitterNot one person has said they won't give him a chance
I Can’t argue with any of that. The handling of the ticket office and club shop is a real embarrassment. Disgraceful and it woukd still be a disgrace if the fans hadn’t stepped in.Been willing to give KLD the benefit of the doubt even though I thought his handling of the share issue was amateurish and gave off a tonne of warning signs.
