Football Insider say it's Mowbray.

That shite gets rolled out every time we make an appointment like this. Gave grayson a chance, give parkinson a chance, give Mowbray a chance. Woe betide anyone who wants to see a bit of forward thinking and us to think outside the box. We have a young, exciting, squad, let's try and hire a coach to match instead of some middle of the road championship plodder.
So are you not going to give him a chance?

With this squad, even as it currently stands, we should be aiming to be in or around the playoffs. This appointment smacks of "we want to peak at mid table and you'll be happy with it". And the worst thing is, some people actually are.

I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with you mate, but what did you class Neill as before he took charge?

At the end of the day, what will be will be. They already have my season ticket money anyway, just have to hope it works out and I will have egg on my face

I’m Mogga neutral if it is to be him. No opinion either way.
Ive only been happy with 4 safc appts since Browny got the push in 73: McMenemy-ONeil-Poyet and Neil. Only unhappy with Wilkinson, DiCanio, Coleman, Parkinson and Grayson. Its a lottery even for some of the worlds biggest clubs nivver mind us.
I think I predicted 10-14th under Neil. I’ll stick with that under the Mogmeister. Any higher and I think the council should consider naming a public space after him.

After 4 years in league 1 I will take it.

Say that now but once we’re amidst that it’ll be shit. Each season in league one had promotion to keep the interest going and obviously that meant wins were regular as well. If we’re winning three or four games in every ten for four years in the second division, consolidation and sustainability will not be very popular.

My point is that those clubs all thought TM was worthy of being their manager, yet the vast majority of posts on this thread make it quite clear that he's not worthy of your club.

Spin it how you want - the arrogance and attitude towards the bloke is shocking.
Personal insults too - bet all that changes if he has you up towards the top of the league.
Good post -big hard uncompromising Centre half -I hope he does very very well -tough nuts tend to do well here and ultimately like all clubs results will dictate.
A positive for me is I presume he lives in the area and more importantly should hit the ground running as he’s obv been watching our games for some weeks .He will know the crowds we get , and the noise we generate a la sat when on the front foot and will also have a good idea where we need to strengthen the squad which is weak in depth .
He’s not coming in “ cold “ and will know he needs to win a few around -im sure his big showlders can cope with that ..we needed someone in asap and we have that .Good luck to him .

I liked Neil. I thought of him as a decent upper mid table championship manager with relatively recent experience of promotion. He was clearly taking a step down, that I don't believe he would've made for many, if any, other clubs. We are Sunderland AFC. We were the biggest club in league 1, but didn't act like it - grayson, parkinson, Johnson. With Neil we finally did say, we're Sunderland and we're going to get a championship level manager to get us out of league one.

I don't give a fuck how arrogant I seem, as far am I'm concerned we are the biggest club in the championship. We have an exciting young squad that could easily go places and I feel like we should act like it, and not hire some mod table plodder that would've gone to basically anyone at this level. Say to MK Don's, we want your coach, and f***ing take him - all properly of course, none of this stoke shite of taking him out to dinner while he's still employed. A young, forward thinking, stylistically matches our squad perfectly. Think outside the box for once, act like the draw that we are at this level. Be dynamic, be on the front foot, not someone that's going to bore us to tears talking about how happy we should be he's taken us to mid table.

A lot of you need to give your f***ing heads a shake! The outrage...most of you have no idea WHY you are outraged either, just piling in cos its the col thing to do!

He's not some piss poor has been/unknown quantity, he's an established manager who knows his shit.

GIVE. HIM. A. CHANCE!
Not one person has said they won't give him a chance

Haway man play off push ?!?! The season has just started.
Do you think the ship needs steadying then? Yes the season has just started but seeing how we’ve played so far I think we are 3 or 4 signings away from possibly sneaking into the play offs. Mind it might turn to shit now.

I'll honestly never understand why some people on here bother supporting Sunderland.

Never come across owt like it in real life.
Its because they can hide behind a keyboard they wouldn’t dare come out with this shit in real life. They’d get laughed out of town.
