Football Insider say it's Mowbray.

You said last night Mowbray was a dinosaur because nobody has taken a chance on him. Yet Alex neil was put of work for nearly a year and dropped down to league one.

And I quote

"You're absolutely pathetic. Its a waste of time engaging with you. You made a fool of yourself last night and thankfully most people see through you.

So ill leave it there"

Well, I did that in a post in the other thread but ill do a quick summary.

Main strengths are that he likes to play attractive attacking football. Most of the signings he made were good/decent. Dack Armstrong, Brereton Diaz etc. He has good connections with Liverpool and City (often gets good loans from them) as he gives them plenty of game time and develops them well. Harvey Elliott and Tosin Adebayo are now established PL first-teamers after spending a season with us and doing well. The players seem to like him as well - rarely any issues there. The players seem to like him too - rarely any issues there.

The other strength is that he loves developing and bringing through the kids. Last season 8 of our first team had come through the academy. 2 have just walked though (Lenihan to Boro and Nyambe to Wigan). He is a better coach than many give him credit for, especially with the youngsters.

Anyhow, there's more in my main post in the other thread. Basically he is a proper football man and i think he will have you midtable this season. Solid pair of hands. Maybe not one for the long term. Struggles to break into the playoffs (at least he did with us).
Thank you, I’ll check your other post.

I thought you were another Rovers fan who had posted on here that had no positives to say about him. That’s the post that is getting referred to and reposted by quite a few who already have their minds made up. The main thing he said was that Mowbray’s football was awful. Not attacking and not attractive. Good to hear a different perspective. Thank you.

How on earth should Dyche be unrealistic . Only realistic because everything is being done cheaply
Why don’t you donate some of your own money, like Ellis Short? Easy to spend someone else's, even when you don’t know how much he or the club can afford to lose.

Get some one in quick, no more 4 managers in the dugout job !

I don't understand the whole lack of ambition argument, I think it's more a lack of creative or progressive thinking. The ambition from the board is to ensure we have a well run club. It's been a long wait to get back to championship it'll be almost as long if not longer before we see the prem again. But I'd much prefer a steady ship.
The DoF model isn't a bad thing as it gives the club continuity when managers and players are so quickly turned over

What we're his outbursts? I remember his wba one like but didn't know how many others there was.
"Outbursts" perhaps wasn't the correct technical term, but from memory he's always seemed to have sly little digs about us in interviews whenever we've come up.

Because you cant answer as you got proved wrong

If I'm wrong, tell me how what you said is correct. Otherwise just crack on and we can all see the truth

You win the technicality here of course. However that seems to suggest that we’d be getting a comparable coach to heroin chic skeletor. I’d be happy with that given everything.
Weird situation. Steady away rather than a young up and coming manager.

You can say it’s lack of ambition, or pragmatism, depending on your perspective.

This is another iasue for me. He's mates with our head of recruitment, out of work, presumably has a house locally and has been attending our games. If anything smacks of being done on bare minimum spend.
There's a whole world to have a look at where it seems we haven't looked beyond our immediate circle.

As long as its til the end of the season, I personally will be fairly happy. Anything beyond then I will be questiining the long-term ambition.

I would turn it round and suggest its your regarding as him being a Boro "Legend" that has you coming-up with this nonsense. You regularly wade in with the notion of all Sunderland fans being arrogant and regarding purselves as a massive club.
I would suggest its you with the problem regarding your own club.
I wanted a younger manager
You don’t need to explain yourself to the resident Boro numpty.
