Jan Paul van Hecke (rumour)

He was coming here due to the similarity in our playing style with brighton. Without a managrr he doesnt know if that will still be true

Of course he does - the whole purpose of the Sporting Director / Head Coach model is that a Head Coach is employed to implement a particular style. That way, in theory events like this shouldn’t affect recruitment and should impact continuity minimally.

I know thats the theory vut are you really trying to tell me Alex Neil played the same style as Lee Johnson?

The whole point of this DoF model is that you recruit a coach to fit the playing style meaning you don't have to rip everything up and start again every time a coach jumps ship.

If we're doing it right then Brighton will know our playing style as it will remain predominantly the same.

Sorry, I see someone had already responded to you making the same point I did.

I think Neil implement elements of the style that Johnson was meant to be playing. The club cited Johnson's failure in that regard as one of the reasons he was peddled. Neil mentioned a few times that we were meant/wanted to be a high pressing team but that none of the stats before he arrived bore that out. The high press is a big part of our playing identity now and we've recruited to suit, the coach appointment will be the same (if they get it right).

Neil scuppering the very thing he was allegedly moaning about - lack of signings

Sounded like a cracking coup for us

What a dick move man

Fair point. If we do get it right then we do not have anything to worry about. Its clear that Stewart, Pritchard, Dajaku and Clarke have been recruited to suit a high energy high press game anyway so that is probably the style aimed for

Guess the French kid isn’t happening now neither?
Well I think the idea behind our transfer policy is that it continues regardless of the manager. The unknown is whether players fancy joining a managerless club (bad timing with the window closing soon) or whether Neil specifically was a pull for players
