AN has played it very well for himself. Let’s just hope we’re as organised as Stoke in finding a replacement.
 

I feel sick too. Like something has been ripped from inside of me. Been at work all day so don’t know anything other than a notice from Facebook on safc.com about Alex holding talks with Stoke.

How could he do something like this? Even consider holding talks. If a manager cares anything about the club he will turn any suitors down in a second.

Contracts, even in football management, are definitely not meaningless. I accept that a super rich club where money is no object can take any manager they want and pay the price, but this is Stoke City, a fellow championship club close to breaking FFP regulations.

Money my boy, money and nothing more. You seem young but the day will come when you realise that money is what it’s all about.
 
If we have him on the cheap and his contract specifically allows talks it may be to leverage a fair deal for himself ... Its still a kick in the nuts
 
Alex Neil was on the way to becoming a legend here and he must have seen the potential. We were the first big club he has managed.

Stoke have a lot of money but there must be a range of other reasons why this looks like it’s happening. He wouldn‘t have been poor working with us. How much the club is responsible for this will probably come out soon but it doesn’t look great.
