It’s a done deal, it’s simply got to be.

They’ve contacted him straight after sacking their manager to gauge interest, told him what their conditions are and he’s fancied it.

He’s driving down to sign the contract.

We move on ….

Got to say I’m completely deflated about this mind.

This club never fails to kick you where it hurts
Probably stopped him in the tunnel on Saturday. Be interesting to hear his reasons for leaving us for them.

It shows why he'd not be any better off at Stoke.

No. It shows why he shouldn’t be any better off at Stoke, all other things being equal.

So if he decides to go - all other things weren’t equal were they? And I for one will be wanting to know, from the ownership/management, why.

Maybe we tried? We don't know. Seems odd to assume the club have messed up when all we "know" is that Stoke have made an approach and Neil seems interested in talking to them
If he goes they have messed up , a club of our size should be able to persuade him to stay over Stoke f***ing city

This, clear as day. If he's really on his way down then it's over.

What a club. I'd just booked last minute trains to come back for the game tomorrow as well - near instant regret.
Can you still say you’ve got covid and get a voucher the value of the price off them

But it's his decision! If he wants to go to Stoke over staying at Sunderland that's on him (and there are lots of reasons why, as have been outlined in the thread: salary, transfer control, family ties, etc)

Of course there is. He could hear them out, as he’s entitled to do, and then decide he’d rather stay here. Happens all the time.

Would that work coming back even after holding talks, apparently he is nearly there in a car according to Downey. It would sour my view I'm sure.
