I would be concerned if Steve Clarke had got his jotters, or if he was the favorite for the Everton job.

No offense to Stoke, but surely we are currently in a better position to push on. Lot of work to be done at the Britannia.

I can't verify how genuine this is, but coming from a lad who is pally with O'nein, so better than just some bloke in the pub, but they reckon Alex Neil been offered basically double by Stoke. Not shithousing or owt just what ive been told, could equally be shite.
Normally when someone says 'not shithousing' they are actually shithousing. How would 09 know :D Like the manager is gunna tell his players that he couldn't give a toss unless the club stump up more money man.

Whenever we talk about transfers we talk about players chasing the money. Managers can do the same, and with the wealth at Stoke City, they might just be able to offer him a damn sight more
He has two options, stick with us and build something but sit under a blanket all winter
Go to Stoke and be able to put his heating on

Let's be real here. AN has been terrific for us. That being said we would be able to attract a higher calibre manager than we would have in League One. I do not want him to go, but let's not piss our pants. We'll be alreet either way.

Even if this is true we would just raise his comp / give him what he wants. No football person would take stoke over Sunderland at the moment for the same pay.

Aye cause O'Nien knows Neils wages and what Stoke would offer him. Dear me

There's nothing speculative about a manager speaking to a player or players we're signing you melon. Nearly every manager at every club speaks to players before signing them, common knowledge. Its not out of the ordinary when FI have both said this morning we're close to 2 deals and all of a sudden the manager is tied up. Put 2 and 2 together and get 4.

Nearly every manager’ and ‘it’s common knowledge’ doesn’t exactly add a great deal of weight to your point that you aren’t speculating.

We’re all speculating here. You’ve got a bit superior and don’t believe you are speculating. I know I am based on a few little things that have been in the press.

He won't go to Stoke now.

What we have to watch out for is one of the premiership struggler teams or champo parachute teams sacking their manager pre World Cup. AN would be a strong candidate to turnaround a club at that level

So you don't think most managers speak to players before them signing then? They just meet them when they rock up to training?

I'm not getting superior about anything, I'm being realistic. There's nothing in the press of any substance that suggests that AN is unhappy, Stoke want AN, or there's a bad reason AN is late for his press conference. If anything you are the one speculating wildly and my 'assumptions' are based on a very reputable source claiming 2 deals are close for which, under normal circumstances, a manager is usually required.

Aye, imagine your gaffer coming into work and telling you that!
If he stayed you'd be straight in his office saying you'd been made an offer by a rival firm.
