I’m not exactly sure at how he was trying to play that ball. He was nearly doubled over at the end

40 for 2

I think rightly or wrongly the England management have the opposite view, in that they feel simply just staying at the crease will mean a quality bowling attack will get you sooner or later.

So want the batsman to take attack to them at times to get runs while at the crease, rather than stay at the crease for longer with no runs.

Which would happen with something like Sibley imo.

As with everything it’s about getting the balance right between the two.
I do get that point....Great when it comes off.
But
do you think they take into account conditions?..The bowling attack?, all the other peripheries that surround the game?
I honestly don't.... "Go for it, to hell in a handcart" I find simply stupid....Chasing 143?..Just take singles, nowt daft, play the day out, play the next one out, even the first session of the 3rd day...Then you have the option of playing the daft stuff.....if it comes off...you have won, if it doesn't....you probably still win...Its nonsense to me this...F.ookin' baseball with a touch of blind mans bluff
