Current sales show 31237, which based on previous matches excludes away fans.

Attendance figures are how many tickets are sold, including season tickets, not how many people actually attend the game

Data showed that the walkup gates were being used by very few people. The club offered support in using the alternatives; they had no takers. By now most of those 250 will have adapted by getting to grips with the online tickets, or by buying from the ticket office on the day. There's a line being put about that there's thousands of people not going because there aren't pay on the gate options; I can see no evidence that that's the case.

They should have a match day turnstile that takes every payment method available as a common courtesy. It would cost next to nowt to operate for a few hours per game.

There’s really no good excuse not to.

Foundation Of Light tickets are card only. WRT Grumpy most will have had to adapt some people who can only deal with cash will either have had tickets bought for them or won’t go. Younger kids/people impacted with brain degenerative illnesses like dementia/Alzheimer’s.

Aye that was out of order and I apologise.

However, Im passionate on this matter. Loot at where Im from...if it wasnt because I and one of my best mates had an opportunities to go to Roker Park instead of St James when I was a kid I could have quite easily been a mag. Me and one of my mates in particular have put £10,000s into the club over the years. We have to llok long term not short sighted penny pinching.

We have a massive challenge in coming years with the blood money in the area lets not provide any barrier whatsoever for people to support the club.

Technology works for you and thats great. A couple of cash and contactless turnstiles for those that it doesnt is not too much to ask and will easily pay for itself.

I need to upgrade a ticket. That certainly can't be done online. It also can't be done on the phone either becsuse the club are thick as fuck.

If people want to ring up and purchase a ticket, let them. Makes no difference to your life, so there's no need to judge them for it. It takes probably about 2-3 mins to purchase a ticket on the phone. There should be no issue with it, after all phone calls are part of "modern life" aren't they?

How many clubs in the top 2 divisions have a matchday turnstile that accepts every payment method available?

I'll tell tell you how many. It's zero.

Why do you expect SAFC to act any differently than the other 43 clubs just to suit what is probably now a handful of people.

Well thats bollocks - I have just searched 1 club, Coventry since they have a relatively big stadium, and lo and behold. They may be the only club in the league doing it, but I will retire researching with a 100% success rate

Cash turnstiles are useless if all their home games are either postponed or moved elsewhere 😀

So this shows that the club have tried to offer a solution to this perceived issue and found it not taken up.
Perhaps we can put it to bed now as it is becoming a contest of who cares the most about a particular member of society who probably does not want to come to the match anyway.
Maybe those with real concerns should contact the club and volunteer to help provide a solution on match days?

I’m out of this debate now so the name callers can feel free to label me “Jack” or worse.
 
I simply can’t see why the club can’t have one cash turnstile open maybe in the North Stand only to solve this issue.
Even if only 100 people use it surely the cost of the operator plus cashing it in at the bank would be more than covered.

If what they have done's specific purpose is to shut down the tracker (rather than a side effect of some else) then that us a shame. But to be honest I am surprised it hasn't happened sooner. Saying that none of the idata couldn't be collected manually.

I will be doing a manual later (early afternoon) I'll see how long it takes.
With half the Blocks being sold out or with only 2 or 3 available it shouldn't be too time consuming (missing half an episode of Minder should nail it).
