That would make sense albeit still mental for the SAFC related stuff, but I can't work out what he has to gain with his behaviour in motorsport or why anyone in those fields would still entertain him?

Sponsorship obligations, at least in part perhaps? I can't imagine it's all related to the distribution of a product that barely seems to be available, though I could be wrong

Still not a good look, although without an I&E or full notes to the accounts it’s difficult to know the full details.
Could even be money put into the business by the director as a loan - that wouldn’t necessarily be presented as a long term liability.

As far as I can work out, he doesn't provide any sponsorship. It appears he (or whoever owns the RichEnergy brand) let's the 'sponsored' team use the branding and obtain distribution rights in the hope it generates sales of cans.
This raises the questions of who actually owns the RichEnergy branding and what is #bullshitbillys role? None of which is clear.

I don't doubt your assessment although I would suggest that Storey likes to give the impression that he does (or did). Most things associate with the wretched man are about as clear as mud. Here's an article from Motorsport that tries by fails to shed a bit more on things and fails largely do to the contradictory stories that always seem to fly around when Storey is about.

That is certainly true.
The only company he appears to have been a director of is Lightning Vollt Ltd (formerly Rich Energy Ltd). The company is currently in liquidation and the progress report from March this year shows substantial claims by non-secured creditors including one from "a party connected to the company"-

Yep - according to #bullshitbilly the only authorised distributor of Rich Energy is now BTCC. However the only place you can buy RichEnergy is from OMGRacing
