An apology from me

I wonder if this boring family know they’ve caused a resignation, they’re probably over the moon can tell they hate flags and that
Well given that one of them responded on Twitter saying they didn't celebrate because they had two nowt on, I'd say they know, and likely don't care.

Aye I saw those tweets mental really, the da was tweeting again saying he likes to see all 3 teams do well

I’d just like to state, to start with, I can still post things on this message board without being the official voice of SO37.

My comments earlier were OTT and I didn’t mean to offend anyone.

When I posted my thread, we’d just pulled a goal back when we were down to 10. 99% of the away end we’re going mental.

I was stood amongst a group, who told me they didn’t want to sing. They literally didn’t clap after we scored.

We are going to suffer set backs like we did tonight, and at least having people who will clap the lads will help.

I don’t think I’m a better fan than anyone. There’s been many times where I’ve stood there in shock at how bad we’ve been. I thought tonight was the time to get behind the team.

Again, apologies. I’m not a better fan than anyone. Our remit is to improve the atmosphere. That goes for away matches too, but what I said tonight went too far.

Haway the lads.
Sorted that BO out yet?

Dont feel bad, you just vented your feelings at the time.
They, on the other hand, dont seem to have any feelings or desire.
Each to their own, but I am definately with the passionate side.

Singing has been pointless for years. I gave up when a shit chant like “Red Army” replaced “You’re going home in a fuckin ambulance”.
That’s a good point in a roundabout way.
Not all chants/songs are directed at the team as praise or encouragement.
(I know in this case it was celebrating that was the issue).
I’d have no interest in chanting stuff at the opposition fans, or in the hope that mags might be watching on TV to hear etc
The noise of encouragement used to be called the Roker Roar and is missed. It definitely helped.

TBH I think he was on to something, but I think we should be even more ambitious and admit away supporters not only on whether they will sing, but on the quality, timbre and range of their voice too and plan seating arrangements based on bass, baritone, tenor ect.

we could be the worlds only barbershop style fans.
imagine the flying pickets, but 2000 strong

We should get @Grumpy Old Man to organise it, I believe he sings in a choir

Cant understand anyone not clapping when we pull a goal back.

At f***ing least.

Strange, you would think they would caught up with everyone else.
One thing is for sure if you can’t get any enjoyment from that match how we played then supporting the lads this season is not for you. It’s going to be a rollercoaster and as long as the lads play with the conviction they are deserve 100% support.
Shouting and clapping should be a season card requirement 😉, but singing optional ( I don’t even sing in the shower - Not since Home Alone ) though even I did at Wembley and conquered my inhibitions for a day.

As an 80 year old I have enough trouble getting to the seat without being forced to sing! My generation rarely sang, maybe Blaydon Races at cup ties, and as someone has already said the Roker Roar was just a tremendous continuous wordless yell. This of course was at Roker Park and I don't think the noise at the SOL whether singing or chanting is as good. It's different at away games where the singing & chanting is tremendous.
I was at Bristol for a great away day. It was spoiled by the recklessness of the fellow behind who jumped on me after the first goal. I could easily have broken a leg. Should we also ban the elderly who are unsteady on their feet? Let's be tolerant and support the club in our own way.
