The Hundred 2022 Match Thread

Great competitive game with plenty of top players, what’s not to like??
And most of all the people in the ground having a great and fun time!!

If a team has a great chase and close game in another form of cricket, that’s great to watch.

Not sure why the exact same principle doesn’t apply in this competition!!

Like you say mate what’s not to like about last nights game?

What some people need to understand is not everyone has the time to watch every format.

I would love to watch every test match, but realistically I struggle to watch a full T20 because of work/family.

I only managed to catch the chase last night, and it was fantastic. Watched as much as possibly of the Blast also this year.

Once I’m retired I’ll be watching more of the County Championship and international Tests, but I’m enjoying the extra short format in the mean time as it’s my only way of getting to watch a full game.

It’ll be the death of the counties, but you don’t care about county cricket so couldn’t give a toss.
I have never said that, I simply like to see people enjoying all the formats and having a great time at a cricket match, wherever or whoever is playing.

Rather than been bitter about everything and twisting all time constantly.

Exactly mate I love ‘The blast’ as well, in fact my favorite day of the cricket season is ‘finals day’ and like you work a lot, so that been on a Saturday was a great watch.

I appreciate all the formats, but most of all like to see players enjoying themselves, playing positive cricket and fans watching enjoying themselves as well.

Anything that achieves that is a good thing in my book.
I appreciate both sides of the argument here and I watched a great game last night that had a brilliant finish. BUT

If the ECB, sky and the BBC put as much effort into the advertising, coverage and hype of the 100 into the existing formats then the 100 probably wouldn't exist
I think that’s a totally fair argument mate.

But doesn’t mean people can’t enjoy and have a good time with what is in front of them at the time.

I enjoyed last night's game, although I am just happy watching cricket and haven't managed to watch much this season with work and family.

As I say I just wish they would promote the county games as much. Like I said yesterday the one day cup is on presently and you would hardly know it existed

Yeah would agree it’s a difficult balance and calendar is too squeezed.

We need only need 1 short format completion two puts too much squeeze on the calendar.

Agreed, although looks like it will be the one day cup that goes
Aye unfortunately so, would have been better having one big competition of short format cricket, with a months window and all players available, making room for 50 over competition as well as county championship therefore having 3 competitions instead of 4.

But can’t see how they can do that now they went down the route they have.

And all we had to sacrifice was: £70m in cash reserves taken out of the game, the county cricket season, 50 over cricket, half the country's ability to watch live cricket in the school holidays.

You love it, we get that, but if you want us to stop pointing out the horrific consequences of this farce then tough shit I'm afraid.

That’s absolutely fine mate, you get your opinion across.

Although all I saw last night was people thoroughly enjoying themselves and having great fun!!

It was horrific to see!!!
Who will no doubt will go home tell friends and family what a great time they had, spreading the word how entertaining cricket can be.

Yeah absolutely horrific!

That’s a lie.
Well what I see mate is twist and negativity.

If it’s not the ECB about one thing or another it’s on the political boards twisting about the government every other day

On the cricket it is negativity after negativity, Christ even after we knocked off 3 big scores to win three test matches in row against New Zealand.

When we played India in the next match you were calling it game over and lost after just the first day!! yet we went and won that game as well!!

That’s what I see and call constantly twisting and constantly battling about one thing or another.

Rather than just enjoying the game!

Horrific!!! And only half the country excluded from enjoying cricket. Horrific!!!!

And one of the country's greatest fixtures, the one day Roses clash, played yesterday in front of a couple of thousand people in York.. Now that really is....... horrific!!!

You’ve got some serious issues mate, that amount of detail about my posting history suggests you spend FAR too much time following me around

It isn’t all true of course, but you really, really, REALLY need to get out more
