And he's apparently being allowed to leave. Hope were in for him. As we all know Franklin hates playing academy lads so will be only too happy to sign him to replace Mackintosh

Rumour is we are.

Perhaps the club were right to open the door to him after all… 🤷‍♂️

Aye. Although I'm not sure of the time line with regards to eckersley when we signed Robinson. Makes perfect sense if he's leaving to replace him with Robinson.

I was one of the few suggesting the club were right to bring in some extra bodies 😇

i think if we can get him we will be making a move for him for sure
Well if he enjoyed his time up here and felt settled it gives them more chance of signing him if they are in for him. He did one if those little interviews with Marty when he arrived and he mentioned having not played much "up norf" I suppose it depends on his options really.

Not sure what sort of deal he would be after he is 3rd choice w/k batsmen at Kent albeit with the two ahead of him are both very good at county level. Sussex are looking for a keeper so it's probably an easier move for him but I doubt they would blow us out the water financially.

I note that Tom Alsop kept wicket for them yesterday, even though he hasn’t been doing in the red ball of late. He seems a really exciting prospect from a batting perspective.

Sussex would be a more convenient move undoubtedly but they have a promising 20 year old keeper,Ollie Clark, who's averaging 40+ with the bat so the Sussex rumour appears strange. Signing players is North's remit and he's had a pretty decent record in that although the jury is still out on Maddinson.
He also has to accept responsibility for the Franklin appointment,of course..

Yeah it's a tricky one when you have a youngster who looks the goods especially with keepers and slow bowlers when it's likely you only play one.
