The Safety of Fans in the North Stand

If you are going to move them then obvious way would be to put them in the North lower. Surely those that sit there and are the ones affected would understand why they have to move?
Well to a point but in your previous point there's a canny chunk who've sat there since the SOL opened and did so specifically as the away fans were always to be housed in the South Stand. But still you'd only have half of the North lower allocated to away fans say 4k so still causes problems.

what would you do with the black cats bar ST holders? aren't their seats the back few rows of the north stand lower?

Who did you send it to mate? I've had communication with the club about this earlier on.

I make no apologies if the man has been bombarded with emails today and that I have just repeated what has been said already by others. As a fanbase I believe we are far too passive at times and this kind of crap needs shouting about... not just by one or two - but by as many fans as we can get telling the club that further action is needed.

Do Coventry fans cause this sort of hassle everywhere or is just a Sunderland thing
They had a few incidents last season including fans running on the pitch during the game to stop an opposition player taking a pen (he subsequently missed) and an incident where a fan ran across the gap into the away fans to punch a fan, on each occasion these were applauded as legends on the message boards

Just a few weeks ago and English football made various statements on the issue of fan behaviour in stadiums.... including this section from Trevor Birch, CEO of the EFL

“This season sees new measures introduced and sanctions implemented that will serve to remind everyone attending games - but particularly the minority of people behaving in an offensive manner - that there are real life consequences for the criminal, dangerous and irresponsible conduct at football. It is wholly appropriate that these unacceptable behaviours will now be dealt with through a combination of police action and automatic club bans"

Mr Birch can be contacted on email via the following address: -

[email protected]

I shall be asking him if he intends to follow up on his statement and ensure such actions are really happening.
Done

They pissed off a few when they went into the North Upper but still went ahead. But yeah with segregation down in the lower bowl I'd imagine they'd look at all other options first before doing that.

Who you been in contact mate?

Would like to see said fan do that at any part of the SOL. Why weren’t their fans banned them for this behaviour ?

Has anyone mentioned the positioning of away coaches? We and countless other SAFC fans walk past away coaches after the games and there's never any coppers there. Didn't see any bother with Cov yesterday, all relatively good natured, but all it takes is one spark and there'd be hell on?
Yeah. But nothing will be done. Even asked for 5 a side court lights to be on for evening games, but nothing

Another game, more missiles thrown down on to the Sunderland fans in the North Stand.

Coventry fans once again showing themselves up after acting all innocent in the build up to the game.

We need action to prevent this from happening again.

Coventry should get zero allocation when they next visit. It’s every time with them.
It's time to relocate away fans in to a corner section as Boro have done. Having away fans above home fans is not the best idea of tbf.

I think the lad who punched the away fan was banned, im not sure about the lad who invaded the pitch (there may have been more then 1 incident of this if i remember), there was footage of both at the time

Yeah absolutely. I've emailed that address too as well as Chris Waters. Apparently they've got the cov fan on cctv so hopefully he'll be getting a knock on the door soon and a lifetime ban.

Which corner though? The corners all have concessions in, so are full of ST holders.

Didn't think of that. I honestly don't think there's any practical solution to moving them.
You're probably right so the club really need to get into gear and get this netting up and sorted before the next Cat A away following.
Plus NP need to have a hard look at what went wrong to allow a fan into the stadium with a glass bottle.

The policy is not to make fans sit in their allocated seats. It’s to hard to manage.
So they sit anywhere, which means all the dickheads can hide with each other without being called out.
The police should be in there making fans sit in their allocated seat and no standing in aisles or throw them out.
£10 an hour stewards stand no chance

He’s throwing the lowest employees in the process under the bus.
Accountability Steve accountability, you have tried to do it on the cheap and it’s blown up in your face. At least have the courage to admit it.
You and your management cannot hide behind blaming other people and not putting enough resources in place .
We are not a group of thicko’s who will accept BS. Many on here have and do hold more senior positions than you in organisations and know how it works.

Whilst I agree, we shouldn't be letting the stewards off the hook. I understand from off here that Coventry were allowed to bring their own, presumably to cut our own costs.

Firstly, surely all stewards have to hold an SIA badge or something equivalent and it's not ust a bunch of their own ST holders who are promising to self police?

Secondly, if we are allowing clubs to bring their own stewards to cut our own costs, how much are they willing to save before they end uo saying fuck that, OUR supporters safety is the priority?

Why aren't coppers already up there? Are we not willing to pay extra for Northumbria's not so finest to be placed up there? Are they supposes to be up there and just not arsed?
