I assume though that they mean a scrappy goal at a much higher standard. Although it’s true scrappy is scrappy.

And the childish attack comes, why was it misogynistic? My point was it would have been good if the winning goal was good to showcase the women.

Comment on a male footballers weight or looks, nowts the matter. But the pitch forks are out of its about a female footballer. Same if you laugh at a howler or comment that someone looks hopeless.

A lass on here asked if they'd be having a celebratory bubble bath after the game. Some heads would have exploded if a bloke had said it.

If we truly want the game to be seen equally then stuff like that is part of making it happen.

Except its not remotley equal.

The move is *towards* equality but Men's football unlike women's wasn't banned and undermined for decades and hasn't been injected with some of the largest sums of money in world history to develop it and make it a global product.

If we truly want the game to be equal we need to actually give women's football what mens football has had. And that's sustained investment and infastructure over decades. The PL and Champions League etc are where they are because of money. Conditioning is better because money is riding on it, so money is invested in it. Salaries are better because money is riding on players being better and locked in as company assests. And so on.

In the meantime giving women's footballers, many of whom were semi pros with second jobs when they started their careers, the same level of criticism aimed at male professionals, is absolutley rank.

Not watched one minute of it, got no interest in international sport what so ever. It’ll not be long before theirs more Englishmen in Welsh football team than their is in English cricket team, it’s time to scrap it. f***ing pointless if you’re just letting people pick who they represent.

Having said that I’m glad the shites made so many people happy.

The men don't have to prove themselves to those set in their ways though. For those who didn't watch that will be what they see. Just saying it's a shame it wasn't better to showcase the women's team is all. Not sure why that statement would warrant abuse but the social media justice warriors will regardless.
